I will bet @wdwmagic an overpriced in-park coffee that we see Disney test two separate hard ticket events this year, on either side of the regular park operating day, for the same park.

Some of this I welcome, but is another example of buying "instead of" vs "in addition to" - our upcoming trip we are *only* doing an after hours event at DHS - lower crowds, cooler temperatures and actually was cheaper than the day ticket for that day

But we would never buy both a day ticket and after hours ticket for the same day, but having more options I think is a positive

He may have helped that but as some who really only cares about the parks he hasn't made them any better.
Well, if you only care about the parks, that's bad news for you. Disney didn't have the money for improving the parks for the past half decade as they prioritized streaming and dealing with COVID. But now there's $60B on the way for Parks and Experiences and $17B for WDW.

Disney is more than the parks. It was more than the parks for a long time before the parks were even built.

As grumbly as I get, even I would say Iger is an improvement over Chapek. However, that's less praise for the former and more a condemnation of the latter.

Its not the lack of investments that's the problem. It's the way they look at the parks that's the problem. The whole idea of pushing guests to their tipping point is awful. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth with this whole thought process of squeezing every last dollar out of each guest that visits.

Yes Disney has been more than just parks but they never treated the parks as the ATM like they do now. There were price increases but they never were in your face about it.

To think if they just extended hours back to how they used to be they could spread out the crowds without having to pay extra for it.

Except for the hourly cost of operations and the expense of thousands of employees to keep it open longer, I guess.

Or do you expect the CMs to donate their time to keep the parks open longer?

Still won't be same experience as the After Hours provide with very low crowds, unique characters, included snacks, etc

I do miss some of the longer hours for regular guests for sure but little apples and oranges

Its still higher now than when I got in.
TWDC is too big to fail, too many institutional investors.
This is why Disney will do what Disney will do...... I am still not looking forward to Cars land in MK.:(

Oh they had the money, they just made bad decisions on where to spend it. Luckily the parks helped make up for all their other failures. Did anyways
