Whatever, Fareb! Whatever!
My dude, calm down. Its the truth, Disney doesn't have the animators anymore that are trained in hand drawn animation. So if they do plan to have a hand drawn feature in the future they would have to train a new group of animators. It takes time.

Hamilton's great, there are a couple of good songs from Moana, but other than that...I don't see what he brings to the table except incredible lyrics (usually).

Sorry. You're not wrong, but I want it back, unless if they're going to try again on making another hybrid film like they did with Wish.

Well 2.5D and choppy animation is all the rage right now. So I don't see them doing another regular 2D hand drawn animated feature for awhile.

That’s fine. But in case you didn't know and I know this won't change quickly on Disney, but Hayao Miyazaki's hand drawn movie The Boy and the Heron is a big hit at the box office and it won an Oscar fir Best Animated Feature and that is the first time to 2d animation achieving at the box office and the Oscars. So, maybe not for awhile, but there's still a chance that Disney might notice it and taking notes.;)

Visually this looks awful from the trailer, and I DESPISED the 2019 remake for sucking all of the emotion out of the animated original. However, Barry Jenkins is a phenomenal director so I might give Mufassa a watch anyway out of curiosity to see if Jenkins managed to add a smidgen of artistic merit to a corporate-mandated product. I'm not at all optimistic but I won't judge the thing until I see it for myself.

He has a Pulitzer Prize, three Tony Awards, two Laurence Olivier Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and five Grammy Awards, along with nominations for two Academy Awards. Maybe that helps in the hiring process.
I'm always in for good lyrics. His Little Mermaid stuff left much to be desired in my opinion, though I was hopeful when they were pairing him with Menken.

As someone who really has no interest in this Mufasa movie, I will definitely be sampling the songs so I can see if LMM is bringing his A-game.

But him being in Mary Poppins Returns was kind of stupid, right?

Yes I’m aware there have been other 2D style hand drawn animated movies recently done such as the movie you mentioned. I’m pretty sure Disney is also aware the movie exists as well. Still doesn’t mean they currently have enough animators that are currently trained in hand drawn 2D animation to be able to produce a new feature film anytime soon.

He didn't write the songs for Mary Poppins Returns.
