Discovery Island - Worth it?

Whats to stop Disney from prosecuting the person(people) who has the blog? Its obvious they were on the island trespassing and the blog is advertising the fact that it can be done which may lead to more people trying to do it. I wouldn't be advertising that I did it, seems a bit dumb to me and I think they are only asking for trouble.

I guess they would have to prove that person was actually there and is it really in there interest to spend money to prosecute the person

risk / reward

Not sure if you should do it or not. Sure it may be dangerous, but hey some of the best adventures in life are going to be frought with danger. Avoiding all risks is no way to live life. Where would we be without explorers taking risks.

That said, you should really evaluate whether this risk is worthwhile to you. Danger is one issue, trespassing is another. Understand the consequences, mitigate for whatever you can and then decide. Is the reward of seeing a run down, over grown island with the potential for really cool souvenirs worth it to me?

If it is! Go for it! Don't let people talk you out of doing it just because it isn't safe or without risks. The people who would say that you're stupid for risking something for the purposes of personal fulfillment simply dont understand that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed - and sometimes you need to take some risks to truly live life to its fullest.

...if you're looking for opinion, and hey I don't think you should be... in my opinion this isn't a sound risk. For me, the reward simply doesn't outweigh the risk and effort involved.

I agree with this too. I'm not sure if people have been black balled from property for good, but I wouldnt want to find out.

I do know someone who has been told he may never return to Disney property. It was a kid who was on a trip with my brother when they were in high school (go figure right). I think my brother, this kid, and some of their friends didn't go on the school sponsered trip, but stayed at a friends brothers house in Orlando. They had park tickets and everything, but were at the resort with other kids quite often. Anyway- I'm getting into way too much detail here. Long story short this kid ruffled some feathers and Disney kicked him off property and said that he can't ever come back (to this day I'm SURE I didn't get the whole story from my brother). Two days later the kid was on property again and they caught him within minutes and escorted him off property.

Sooooo I think yes, it can happen. That was over 5 years ago now, so who knows if they would get him if he tried now but who knows.
I love Disney too much to find out.

But hey - risk / reward -- I agree with that argument. Plus I'd love to see the pictures! ;)
