I love everything in the parks and we can't wait to go!! Do I see spots on the screen during Soarin',MuppetVision,Philharmagic or any other screens? NOPE! Do I notice light bulbs out? NOPE!! Do I notice garbage cans in the restrooms overflowing? Yes, only to say that people are such pigs and how hard is it to get the paper in the can. We all are too busy looking at all the families having fun, and us jumping around like little kids. And it will be even better this time because we are taking a first timer!

So we would rather read posts like this.......

Did you see the pretty new marigold bed planted in the town square today. I really enjoyed the tarp over the load area of Splash Mountain, it added some drama to a quaint ride wondering if a rock would fall into the net as my log launched. The nets around the tree of life provide a much needed sun screen and the strobe effect walking through, it is imagineering at its best. My hour spent stuck on the monorail transfering from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom for Wishes gave us some much needed family time and it was a treat to watch Wishes through the monorail window. Once Country Bears was an E attraction and it is again now that they shortened it and made the animatronics not in sync with the soundtrack, it gives us something to laugh at besides the jokes. The backlot tour was too long, seriously a better tour without a sound stage or a street with fake homes, this isn't LA its Orlando. Hey, the cost of water went up again, so great that we live in America where water is plentiful.
1. Water is indeed plentiful and when prices go up to bottle it and ship it, you can expect a price increase to the consumer. The manufacturer passes on their increased costs to the shipper, the shipper passes it on to the distributor and the distributor passes it on to the customer. I know, I know, a loaf of bread used to be 15 cents, a pack of cigs was a nickle, doctors used to take chickens and "our first house cost $5000 BRAND NEW".

2. No, we'd rather read, "I love WDW but they won't be getting any of MY money (and they shouldn't get any of yours) until its' just like 1975 again, or 1980 or 1990 or whatever year trips your trigger.

3. And then there's the always greatly appreciated (and well thought out view of corporate economics), "Disney makes LOTS of money and they should spend it the way I want them to. And oh yeah, lower prices, cuz they make a LOT of money". I mean geez, doctors used to take chickens and everything.

Oh so we crave angry, condescending posts more than satirical ones. Gotcha.

I envy you getting to take a first timer. We here are strongly considering poking holes in condoms so that we can get a grandkid, hopefully a granddaughter. And yep, we have just absolutely DRENCHED ourselves in WDW Koolaid and have yet to see "screen spots" or "chipped paint" or "gum on the sidewalks" or "burned out light bulbs". If people would ball up their papertowels the cans actually wouldn't be full. I've stomped down many a can in the mens' rooms. And it's funny, we've never noticed "nets or tarps". I guess they were there but I'd rather ride Splash and get pics of the carvings on ToL while heading into Bug than complain that Disney had to figure out how to secure structures that are OUTDOORS 24/7 without shutting them down for each and every repair.

You come across as a very angry person and rather dismissive of anyone who doesn't agree with you exactly. It makes it hard for me to take you seriously most of the time.

Some do complain to complain but there are many more that have valid criticisms. When I go to the parks, I don't look for things that are wrong, but sometimes things are so wrong, they are just that noticeable. For instance, the condition that Maelstrom was in is so abominable, I couldn't help but notice and neither could the rest in the boat. I'm glad you haven't seen the screen spots on Soarin' but they are there, and yes they were noticeable. And no I wasnt trying to look for them. The parks aren't at the same standards they have been. I've been going since the early 90s and even noticed it. Do I still enjoy myself when I'm there? Yes. Doesn't mean I can't want changes. It's not a perfect place even if the company is making money... How well Disney is doing on Wall Street doesn't mean they don't need to do things in the parks. Though that seems to be the main argument you make.

And I hope you get that granddaughter... God forbid it be a boy.

Based on what I read here when people are given the slightest chance and opportunity to complain about WDW, I guess so.

I'm not "angry" but it's very easy to be "condescending" when faced with the litany of complaints that get posted here daily.

Some of you people remind me of some of my coworkers: If somebody buys a new car, some others can be counted on to point out all the failings of that particular vehicle. Others can invariably be counted on to say, "It must be nice to be able to afford a new car. I have, fill in the blank, medical bills/spouse out of work/kids still in school, etc." Medical bills are the most "popular" one. If somebody mentions that they went out to eat over the weekend, you can count on someone coming in with, "It must be nice to be able to afford to eat out". If somebody mentions that they went to a movie there are always those who just have to say, "A movie? We haven't been able to afford a movie in YEARS. And all movies "today" are garbage anyway." If one of the young ladies has a new boyfriend, there are her coworkers who can be counted on to say (as soon as she's out of hearing range), "She's such a , she has a new boyfriend every week". We head off a week from today for our annual Spring week at WDW, all I've been hearing at work is: 1. "Must be nice to have that kind of money". 2. "I wouldn't waste my money there, I work too hard for it". 3. "Going on a trip? I spent my vacation time painting the house". 4. "Disney World? That's just for kids." Oh wait, there is one woman, bless her, who tried to give me money to get her an Eeyore pin, I told her to not worry about the money. I might get her 2 just because she's pleasant.

We've been going since the 1970s. And head off again next week. We raised 3 sons, would like a chance to do the girl thing. Do you find that hard to comprehend?

So you lack tolerance for others not only here but in every aspect of your life. Don't think we are the ones with the problem. Think about it.

I find no value in chronic complaining about anything. And that's all that far too many people here and in life in general do. Gripe gripe gripe. When people spend 5 figures or more on a car they don't like to hear a bunch of jealousy, and that's all it is, pure jealousy. When people are having a conversation about a dinner out or a movie or any activities of daily living, it is not enjoyable when the Gloomy Gus' just have to come in with their "tales of woe". I don't begrudge a single thing that people have accomplished or obtained in their lives, I can't abide chronic complainers, chronic malcontents and those whose life revolves around jealousy of others. I spend 8 hr. or more a day working with oncology patients and the physicians who treat them. Two things about that: those patients have a LOT more to deal with than "nets" and "chipped paint" and they invariably handle what life has dealt them with more courage and grace than the childish complaints found here, and I get real tired of hearing about, "how much money those doctors make" from other employees. 4 years of premed, 4 years of medical school, 2 or 3 years of residency and 2 or 3 more years of fellowship and then well into the 5 figures just for malpractice insurance. A bit different than a job after high school answering the freaking phone.
I need a vacation away from all the chronic complainers, at work, here and everywhere.

Just like here, I'm surrounded by chronic complainers at work. It must be awesome and yet disappointing at the same time for you people that nobody and nothing lives up to your lofty standards and expectations. Perhaps you could exchange PMs declaring each other King of the World.

How snarky do you want to get with this? I'm ready to go "all in", how about you?

Why? Because we'd like to enjoy having a female person in our lives? Because we'd like the chance to enjoy taking a little girl to WDW?

Nope. What frightened me is you are strongly considering poking holes in condoms so you can get a grandchild. As a Mother of two adult children, I can't even imagine being that controlling, to ever consider that. Very unnerving.

Thank you. I am indeed "insightful". When you listen to griping and complaining all day, it's not hard to keep track. Oh dear, I mentioned "track". C'mon let's hear all about the failings of the current Test Track. I know you can do it.

If you look at who I was quoting it certainly was not you, a mother who would poke holes in condoms to get a grandchild, well insightful is not the word I would choose.

Come on now. Most of the expectations I've seen here are pretty darn reasonable. Updating technology and screens? Reasonable. Keeping the parks clean? Reasonable. Rides maintained to a level that is not embarrassing/not leaving rides to sit in deplorable conditions for say the length of time Splash was left in? Reasonable. To fix underdeveloped parks? Reasonable. Expecting Disney to invest in their parks via new rides and infrastructure, especially given that that all mighty dollar you seem so high on needs to keep coming in? Reasonable.

I haven't seem anyone with "high and lofty demands." No one calls themselves Kings of the World... you are taking things the extreme. It is completely silly and if this place bothers you so much, there are other Disney boards where things are all roses and sunshine.

All anyone expects is that Disney holds themselves to the standards they have set over the years. As someone who says they have been going since the 70s, would hope you'd see that. Clearly you don't. The rose colored glasses are on for you. And if that is how you want to be, that is ok. There are many like you. But don't criticize and dismiss the opinions of others who want things to be better as somehow invalid. Intolerance just makes you a troll.

This has encouraged me to start a thread taking shots at people who go to WDW and never complain or notice anything wrong.

I don't care what your trip itinerary is or how you perceive your park visit. Starting a post about how positive you are and how negative others are is not the way to start a discussion.

It's a joke, really. And something the mods should crack down on IMHO. You want to talk about what's right with WDW? Then you've come to the right place. Want to talk about what's wrong and what needs fixing? Then you've come to the right place.

But starting threads intentionally looking to bait people because your World view is different really borders on trolling.

Oh, and I hope you have a MAGICal trip with ever increasing prices and ever lower standards all while in a Pixie Dusted haze! :)
