Dinosaur Rehab?

With the current state of Dinosaur, huge amount of effects that don't work one would assume that it will go down for return in the next year or two. I have a crazy idea but it could kill two birds with one stone.

Why not try to incorprate Indiana Jones some how. Indiana Jones and The Forbiden Island. He could be exploring a newly discovered island and go missing. The university hires a search and rescue party that you are part of. The only problem is when you get there the island is inhabited by prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs. Can you and Indiana Jones escape alive? I would try to expand the ride to the original length before the cut backs with the bridge scene or maybe a waterfall scene.

Ok this is what I would to with the rehab.

1. Do you like this idea?
2. Could you ever see something like this happening
3. Could the ride be expanded at all?

Disneyland already has a the Indy ride, which is coincidentally the same track as Dinosaur. It was fun and all, but I'm not sure it would really fit into Animal Kingdom...MGM (or whatever they are calling it these days) would be a fine place for it, but not here.

Don't mess with Dinosaur :fork:.

I think it would a waste encorparted Indie into Dinosaur as opposed to giving a brand new attraction.

As an individual who never really cared for the Dino Institute/Chester & Hester backstory (it's weak) I would love to see a renovation. Indiana Jone Adventure is, in my opinion, the best Disney ride to be built thus far. From the queue with the 'travel video' to the final effects, it really screams E ticket from all corners.

With that being said, though, I don't see too much correlation for adding Indiana Jones to Dinoland. You could force a story and people would accept it but we have already had to put up with one forced story for that area.

But my argument is nil. Monsters Inc obviously belongs in Tomorrowland.. :lookaroun

They should clone the DL version of Indy where the Indy stunt show is at DHS. I've seen the stunt show once. That was enough. When I go to DL, I can't get enough of Temple of the Forbidden Eye. I ride it over and over.
Who says you can't have both Dinosaur and Indy with the same type of ride vehicles in WDW?

I've been told multiple times that it isn't just the ride vehicles. The entire attraction has the same layout. Turns, hills, ect. is identical. Anyone know if this is true? I still don't see it as much of a deterrent in 2 different parks...

After riding both i would say no, besides Indy is longer and has a bridge scene that Dino does not have.

I just did a little research. Wikipedia says they are, although that sentence does not have a reference. I think it may be true if you take away the decoration and scenery and only consider the track. The bridge is a good example but, an individual only really thinks of it as a bridge because of what is around it. Take out the opening under the bridge and it would just be another track segment.

They have identical track layouts. Save for the theming they are clones.

Good point but I rode Dino when it was new and I just rode Indy 2 weeks age they were never even close. The Indy ride it themed 100% better, has better effects and is overall just a better ride even with all of Dinos effects working.

I'll take your word for it.
But I promise. You would never, never, never know the track layouts are the same. No way!
The bridge alone changes the entire ride. Indy has a much more open feel. Nobody could honestly complain about them being too similar.
Aside from the vehicles, they are completely different experiences!

I have had the same thought all along. After going to Disneyland in 1998 I thought why not put this great ride in WDW? Indy was the best ride I have ever been on. Instead we get the stunt show that I have seen once and won't bother doing again ever. Of course there are many rides at DL that I wonder why we don't have at WDW: Alice in Wonderland, Roger Rabbit, Pinocchio, Monster's Inc., Matterhorn, Mr. Toad's (they could have kept it and put Pooh in the playground area or the abundant land not being used next to FL/TT). Hopefully WDW will also get a Little Mermaid dark ride but who knows. They don't see to care to do much with WDW just DL.

So I would say upgrade Dinosaur (or not I like it fine the way it is) and put an Indy ride where the stunt show is.

That they are. One of the biggest arguments around here against bringing Indy to DHS is that it is just a clone of an AK attraction. While it is true from a mechanical sense it is not true from a story sense. The attractions are night and day different from a story perspective and I would bet that 99% of the guests would never even think they were the same. Heck to this day you can still find people that think the left and right sides of Space mountain have different track layouts.
