DINOSAUR Refurb?

The ride definitely needs some TLC. They also need to rename it back to CTX and drop the Dinosaur movie tie ins because quite frankly no one even remembers that movie anymore.
Plus the only tie in were the same species of dinosaurs used. Otherwise there is no reference to the movie what so ever. Other than footage of the iguanodon. Countdown to extinction was a much better name!

CTX was better for all the crowds, it's probably my all time favorite thrill ride. Hope it gets fixed and insure hope it's there forever, the scenery is great and really hope it gets a refurbishment

I agree. This ride is such a hidden gem IMO, and could be top notch, but unfortunately it doesn't get much TLC. I know a lot of people compare this ride to Indiana Jones, but I see them as two completely different attractions. Indiana Jones is more exciting and CTX is more thrilling and scary.

I like rides that can scare me from time to time. It's what makes CTX a unique experience.

I definitely agree it should be renamed back to CTX, but I kinda like the idea of keeping the Aladar statue outside and re-purposing it as a generic iguanodon (like the one in the ride, really...), considering it's the primary plot point of the attraction itself. You could just remold its face so it'd actually have a beak and maybe repaint it.

Anyone wanna do a photoshop? lol :p

I actually like that idea if they change his face to not look so cartoony! I loved the old statue, because it felt like a real dinosaur institute entrance, and not an attraction entrance. Does that make sense?

I couldn't have said it any better. The other day I read the plot summary to refresh my memory, since the last time I saw the movie was like in 2002, and it went something like this:

"...There were lemurs?"

From 2013 to 2015 Dinosaur somehow got 10x less scary at all for me. I swear there were strobe lights on the picture Carnotaurus when I went in 2013.

Funny thing is the pre show has never changed from the CTX era..Aladar was just an iguanadon with no name. The animation was a test to see how the animation would look before the movie came out.

You know, I had always wondered about that. Thanks for the trivia!
Another fun fact the film Walking with Dinosaurs that came out in 2013 was produced by the same team that Did Dinosaur...However rather than have them talking they speak in Thought....If you look at the trailer...You will say..."It's Dinosaur 2!"

Yes, Countdown To Extinction was always intended to tie in with Dinosaur, apparently.
IMO I find it odd still. If they really wanted this ride to always tie in to Dinosaur, then why isn't it more like the movie!? CTX really makes sense for the rides story and theme.

right the pre show has never changed. I just wish they would drop the Dinosaur connection. The tie in is not pulling in crowds thats for sure.

...which is why I asked the question.
I mean just get rid of the name and the statue out front really! That's all they need to change externally IMO. Inside it already is still CTX but with missing and broken effects! Just needs an update!

Just put it back to this...
