Dinner at Kona?

I just cancelled our ADR's for California Grill and replaced them with dinner at Kona Cafe. I know it sounds crazy, but looking over the prices for CG I just don't think me & the DH will be able to afford paying for 6 people there.

Has anyone had dinner at Kona recently? If we go down to the beach at Poly to watch the fireworks, will it be comparable to watching them at California Grill?

Dinner at Kona is very good but the menu can be one of those love it or hate it things. The view from the beach is nice but nothing really compares to the view from the top of the Contemporary.

Last had dinner there in 2006 and enjoyed it. Never been to the CG so can't compare, but we've always enjoyed our meals at Kona Cafe.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to that view. I'm thinking this will be a must do the next time when it's just me & the hubby.

We tried Kona Cafe for the first time this past May. We really liked it and plan on going back on our next trip. DH & I had the teriyaki steak and DD had the pan asian noodles. All were very good. We went to the beach to view the fireworks after dinner, but it was rather crowded & noisy on the beach so we could barely hear the music from Wishes.

We had dinner at Kona in May as well and thought everything was wonderful. DH had Mahi Mahi and I had Shrimp & Scallops :slurp:

I just booked there for my first time too. My plan was to stay to see the Electrical Water Pagent. I think I'll go find the menu and see what they have.

Kona Cafe is a very good choice. The meal itself is probably just as good as CG, but it doesn't have the atmosphere. I think you'll be pleased.

I don't know about the fireworks but I was just at Kona on Thursday and the food was fantastic!
It was my favorite table service of the entire week. Enjoy!

Do you know what time the parade is usually at? Our ressies are for 7pm and the Holiday Wishes is at 9:30 that night.
