Side note:

Someone get that poor cynlindrical speaker housing some Rustoleum. Think security would stop me if i brought in paint chips to try and match its original color?

"Excuse me sir, what are you doing?"

"Um... nope that ain't it... Trying to match this color... close but not right... It needs a new paint job... close again......."

"Sir, could I have you step this way."

"Wait, I was so close with that one!!"

"You need to come with me now... NOW......"

*drags off while arms are outstretched towards the cynlinder*
"Wait, must paint. Must see the future now!!!"

Lets add Die LMA Die what a waste of area and resources , it was great for the celebration but give it back and lets get something more that relates to the studios.
So I guess a stunt show that shows how special effects im MOVIES are done doesn't relate to the Studios' theme? I agree, it's not the best show, but it fits in with the Studios' theme just fine.

I don't think the "tombstones" look bad, either. Yes, its sort of a gimmick, but its really cool whenever I come with new people to Epcot to be able to show them my picture from 1999 of my mom and I, which means a lot to me, because my trips to WDW with her were one of my favorite memories from my childhood.

Also, when you purchased them, there was a guarentee that it wouldn't be removed for quite some time. I don't think they're going to move them just because they stopped selling them.

I'll see if I can't find my little brouchure and scan it. It's in one of my boxes of Disney stuff in my home office.

Did I miss something somewhere? Are they moving these things or is it still unknown?
I'm with you. Why all the excitement over the closing of the sales kiosk for Leave a Legacy. Does anybody think that LaL is dead, and gone while those Stones still stand in the entrace of Epcot. They should have never placed LaL where it is in the first place, in my opinion. I understand the concept, just not the location.

The return of visitors for this attraction is limited saw it twice wont go back again thought I missed something so went back the second time guess what I didn't..

While it does, unfortunately, have some relation to the Studios, you're absolutely right. It is the single worst attraction on Disney property, and the only one - okay, two including that Narnia thingy - I refuse to do more than once. It killed a good portion of what used to be a decent Tram Tour, and replaced it with a loud, hot, and dull waste of 60 minutes.
But back on topic - down with the Wand and the Tombstones! Vive EPCOT!

There was a guarantee they would be displayed for a certain time... but where was not specifically stated. They can move them, as long as they keep them somewhere they can be seen until the deal has ended.

I couldn't agree more. DH and I got our picture done during our honeymoon and I'm kinda glad we did it (it was a freebee from our vacation package!) I do think the little plaques should stay...just not adhered to gigantic monoliths in the middle of the pathway leading into the park.

Dont know if it true or not but a few years ago I heard that one of the main reason for this was actually to protect the park entrance from possilbe bombs

I think LaL was supposed to be for 10 years, like the Walk...

If something i like from Disney is that they kinda learn from their mistakes. Over Disneyland they did this amazing images from the characters, but if you look closer they are made of tiny pictures from guests.

Mickey collage

Now this is more cool than LaL.

The tombstones should be moved to the graveyard at MGM. This way they can still be viewed, be it on the Backlot studios tour, and be allowed to fade and rot in the Florida sun.

The concept may have been neat, but it was poorly executed. The metallic plaques look horrible and really clash against the brown granite.

Good riddance to LAL booths and hopefully the tombstones to follow.

I agree, the mosaics in DL are very cool!

merf, I'd respect you a lot more if you'd just say what you think for once, instead of all this beating around the bush.

 I love Merf's editorial comments in his posts!

During this festive time of year, nothing brings people together like the burning immortal hatred of Leave a Legacy.

Die! Die foul beast, die!

It has been slain :)

Now we just need to start on that wand...
Finally, every time we go to Disney we always ask when they will get rid of it.

It's not that leave a legacy was a bad thing, it's just that it was a very odd design IMO that did not work well with the architecture of the plaza.

And the palm trees were taken out.

Wow! The first time I ever saw Epcot was in 1986. Back then the entrance had "Wow Factor" and now....not so much.....I am really hoping to be dazzled when we go down again in late October. Maggie
