So you point out a post in which he claims you are being "far-fetched" and that you don't seem to grasp the concept at hand (which after reading the thread... you didn't). Sounds more like personal beef than him "going into threads and making claims".

Excuse me? What concept is it that I didn't grasp exactly? And he wasn't thinking I was being far-fetched. He knew I was being sarcastic, but he couldn't think of anything else to say, and couldn't even back up his bogus allegations with an answer, so he used his standard "with that i am threw with u..." rather than answering the question.

I perfectly grasp the concept that some people are full of conspiracy theories and think taking off their shoes to walk through a metal detector will somehow lead to world domination or some other off the wall result , and I said that's there opinion, and I felt that I was also entitled to have my opinion, which was that I think it's no big deal to take off your shoes and just avoid trouble in that situation. So what I failed to grasp is beyond me... In any event, it's not really any of your concern since I was talking to someone else, but I would like to be a little bit more informed before I started commenting on things that weren't my business personally...:lookaroun

I tend to be skeptical of the people who act immature and fail to list their age.

I dont know if youre talking about me or someone else, but I don't recall the option to enter your age coming up anywhere during registration, and it didnt seem like an urgent matter...

but if it's important to know everyone's ages and personal info...

Glad to see everyone on this thread getting along so well.

Disney = Most successful theme parks ever.

Universal = Competitor that wants a piece of the pie.

I see nothing wrong with this, actually what I see is competition raising the bar. Bottom line, it's good for everyone. Who cares if Universal gets ideas from successful things at WDW or vice versa. Some people like Universal for vacation and have a great time, others prefer WDW. After all isn't that what vacations are for, relaxing and having fun?

And why is age even an issue? I know some 40 year olds that are more immature than teenagers. I have had 40 plus year old workers less responsible than 18 year old temps. Age is no indicator of responsibility nor maturity.

Well, if you didn't want anybody else to comment on it than it should be taken out of the public forums and move into private messages. That's why they're there.

It's all about competition and personal preference. It's been that way for eons, and will never change.

Greeks vs. Romans
East vs. West
Pepsi vs. Coke
Cubs vs. Cards
PCs vs. Macs
and in the world of Orlando theme parks it's

WDW vs. Universal

If it weren't for WDW, Universal probably wouldn't have the success it's had in Orlando, and I'm sure you can say that Disney has benefited from Universal's presence in Orlando.

Like I said, it's all about personal preference. As for me, if it were solely for Universal Studios and IoA, I would probably never go to Orlando, Florida, but would and have made the trip just to go to WDW. I would however make the trip, just to see a Shuttle launch. :)

I quoted it a few posts back. In so many words he says that Disney blinds the disney fans and tells us how to think. Maybe I was just already irritated this morning when I read it, but the point is his attitude and approach to this is no better to those who bashed Universal in the first place. I view his posts and demeaning tone as trollish and all he seems to be doing is trying to start a flame war.
I understand what you're saying, and I agree.

Just a question:

But to those who are up in arms about the USF commercials which attack WDW, what are your thoughts on the new Mac commercials that attack PCs?

Because they're about the same concept.

And I think they're hilarious.

EDIT: I'm also a PC owner.

Yeah, but Universal is so cocky in their ads and trying to make themselves look so EXTREEEEMMEEE!!11!!!(in the original Loonatics sense) They're going for something more along the lines of Sega's infamous "Genesis does what Nintendon't" campaign.

I have read posts on this forum for several months and this is my first post. I understand this is a Disney related site and it is great. My family loves Disney we have been at least once a year for 10 years. We are also huge Universal fans my 11 yo son prefers Universal now, bigger thrill rides. My 3yo son is still Disney all the way. My question is why is it so hard for people to like both? Universal is not some carnival attraction it is a quality park. Just because it is not Disney does not mean it sucks:brick:

My problem with the commercials is the way one shows a young girl making fun of the "princess idea." I just find it really wrong.

And yet Universal forgets that they have a princess, Princess Fiona.

Who does karate, married and ogre, became one herself, and turned a snake into a balloon animal.

Yep... real Disney princess right there.

Universal????

I wrote to the marketing division of Disney that they should make a commercial for Disney, that simply stated, "One thing in Florida that is Universal, (Then pan an aerial view of Main Street packed with people) everybody loves Disney."Enough said.Abel

When I want to scream my lungs out on coaster after coaster, it's all about Universal. That said, though, I don't daydream about the memories like I do with Disney. There simply is no take-home magic with Universal. I, too, don't understand the animosity... heck, imagine how crowded our beloved parks would be if there weren't any "competition" around.

What the heck is with this coaster thing? EVERYONE on this site says "Universal has no rides for everyone, it's just coasters."

There are 3 coasters at IOA (4 if you count DD as two instead of one).

There are 2 coasters at USF.

There are 3 coasters at MK alone.
