Did I find a Utilidor entrance?

The correct answer for the studios is because in a Movie Studio, you could quite possibly see a Cowboy walking through a Jungle set to get to his shoot location. At AK CMs should be using the proper routes and methods of transportation to get to their destinations so as not to be mixing costumes and lands...

Not always.

Well they built a small utilidor under SSE in Epcot.

:dazzle: It's a pain in the butt.

Well for EPCOT there really wasn't a need for it in future world, and the CM's for WS enter from the rear. I don't know about DHS because we have been up front and have seen different CM's walking across the front end by the gates in different costumes. The only other reasons could be cost and the land they built on may not have allowed for such construction.
There is a utilidor in Epcot, but its fairly small compared to the one at MK. The main reason why the utilidors in Epcot and practicly everywhere in Disney World are so small or sometimes doesn't exist is because of the water table. You dig some couple feet in the ground, and you hit water. There is a good size utilidor place under MK because MK was raised above ground level when it was built, and most parts of MK are elevated so it gave some room for the underground tunnels.

If you had found a Utilidor, you'd know it. Also, next time curiosity gets the best of you, pause for a moment and resist the temptation. Utilidors are potentially dangerous and could ruin the magic for you. Also, you'd likely get in trouble.

At MK, it's important to note that the utilidors are not "underground." They are built on ground level. They are the first floor of a building that is 2 stories tall in most places and 3 stories tall in Fantasyland. The public, outdoor areas in MK are on the roof of the building, more or less. Picture walking from Seven Seas Lagoon to the turnstiles to the railway station ... you walk steadily uphill. And picture again walking from the Hub to the Fantasyland and from Liberty Square to Fantasyland ... once again, uphill.

I'd read somewhere that CMs at DHS can get from one area to another by using bicycles backstage around the outer rim, bicycles that are not "owned" by any CM but are just available for use and then left at the destination to be used by whoever needs it next.

So true. I took the Keys of the Kingdom tour back in June 07 and once you go backstage and into the Utilidors the whole place changes. One girl on the tour had her magic destroyed when she found out about Mickey. So if you want to see them, take the tour. It is interesting and if you go to the link someone else posted for the map of the system the only area we were allowed to follow was the square under Main Street.

If the path you took was right alongside the train tracks then yes indeed you forund the wheelchair exit for the ride. When you get off of POTC the door to your right is the other end of that passageway once you take the elevator of course.

Yeah, we had bikes. They are old-fashioned, goofy looking bikes.

This June, I was waiting outside the Pirates of the Caribbean, and my curiousity led me to a long hallway. At the end of this hallway, there was an elevator and a staircase going down. There was a mirror in the corner for safety. After that, I thought I was going to get tasered or banished, so I went back.

Am I on to something here?

No. Do a search in the photo albums here, there are maps of the utilidoors on this site.

Where are there entrances? Has anyone ever been down there and can share what it is like? Only MK has this, right?
Watch any travel channel special on the MK for lots of footage - or do a google. It isn`t a secret

Epcot has a small tunnel system from behind UoE to service the basements of both Innoventions (for example getting stock to Mouse Gear, food to Electric Umbrella)

Disneyland also has 2 small tunnels in Tomorrowland.

I believe MGM does not have the bikes anymore. But AK has bikes.

MK has the big one. But there is a little one in FW at Epcot.
