Ratatouille over at DLP is a screen-based attraction too. Disney just doesn't get as much flack because they don't build as many new attractions. But I rather have great screen-based attractions vs a lackluster Mermaid, and a lackluster mine train, a lackluster meet-and-greet, etc.

Not me. I don't find anything lackluster about either of the new Fantasyland rides because I had reasonable expectations for them. While I can appreciate that something like the Hogwarts Express can only be done with screens, the news that Gringotts also largely eschews actual sets, props, and animatronics disappoints the hell out of me.

Has been posted before and I will post it again - when are the softs? I can be there in a few hours!
I've already been in the car on the way to Disney/Universal for the past few hours. Not driving and posting obviously, I'm not crazy ;) any kind of soft opening and I would go in a heartbeat.

The reviews for Gringott's have been less than stellar. Many were expecting the greatest ride on the planet, and it seems like the ride falls a bit short from the reviews that I read.

It's a family ride 42 inch height limit so obviously it's not as thrilling as FJ which is 48.

Most of the reviews I've seen called it amazing, only calling out if it broke down, but then followed up saying it's the new state of the art when it worked on a later ride. (Something this new and complex is going to have glitches) I've been trying to find a less than stellar review and haven't seen one yet, where are you looking?

The reviews have been positive, but most rank the ride under Spiderman and Forbidden Journey. Many also feel the attraction is too reliant on screens.

I thought this one of the best detailed videos of DA:
And the first one, I've seen that show the puppet show

WOW! I am very impressed. The sheer size and level of detail is nothing short of stunning. It looks from that video like one could wander around in there for hours and hours and still not see all there is to see. SO well done.

As far as Gringott's the ride itself, obviously I haven't experienced it yet, so I can't speak to whether it is disappointing at all, but I have to say with all else they've done, the ride almost takes a back seat to the environment that surrounds it.

I did feel it just a bit of a let down that the dragon doesn't move at all. Given it's size and location I wasn't expecting anything too extreme, perhaps just something as small as him lifting up his head, breathing fire and then lowering his head again. I think even that small amount of movement would have had a bigger impact, but really, when viewing it all taken together, how could anyone complain?! I can't wait to see and experience it all first-hand and I'm looking forward to exploring it at night also. I imagine it really comes alive after dark.
