DHS Soundstage 1 Renovation - Toy Storia Mania expansion

I do balance out my excitement, however, with some of @TheVisionarySoul 's posts. From those comments, I get that the TSMM is getting expanded, potentially even improved upon with seasonal overlays. That being said, he also indicated that he is not excited with what he is seeing happening.

I'm hoping that his lack of enthusiasm has to do with the subject of the projects (i.e. maybe he just doesn't like Cars or Monsters Inc, etc.) as opposed to the quality or scope of the work.

Let me pour some fresh wishful thinking on this in a way only I can do. Could it be that George K. has been secretly working on new attractions for WDW since becoming president? If this theory holds true, that means there are at least six new attractions on the verge of being announced that are in the pipeline being worked on by WDI. We know one of these is the Frozen ride coming to Norway. The SS1 project could be the Monsters, Inc. Coaster, revived from the dead because TDA wants one in DCA (or it could be something else). Another could be the Soaring update. That leaves 3 others unidentified.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Radiator Springs mini-land without RSR -- the town with the merch/food plus Mater's ride -- but with a smaller scale dark ride instead of RSR. The could probably do something similar to the indoor portions of RSR and make it a bit longer; it would be a lot cheaper and with a smaller footprint than having the race portion and all the rockwork.

Quick thought: something like this might be able to be built as "Phase 2" replacing LMA/Catastrophe Canyon while "Phase 1" of Pixar stuff gets puts in the BLT area next to TSM/Soundstage 1

This. I can see this happening 100%. Personally, I'd love to see them bring RSR to HS and for those who say it's just like Test Track, well, they are sadly mistaken. It has much more story and heart than the new TT. I think it would be a huge plus for the studios and be a major E-ticket.

I really would just love to see better dining at HS. And Mater's =) I love that ride.

Still pulling for the door coaster, though.

Not just George mind you. New attractions would be signed off by Bob.

If any Cars content is added, I think Mater's and Flo's are definitely going to be in. Whether we also get a Cars dark ride is, to me, less clear. And I don't think it'll be a full-on RSR clone for various reasons, mostly space. If they RSR is built as well, there's pretty much only room for a Toy Story Playland-like area and Carsland, and I think/hope/pray that Disney has decided that Pixar-land needs to feature more than just two properties. Some I'm guessing there's Toy Story Playland elements, something Monsters related (door coaster would be my choice), something Cars-related, and, if they decide on an e-ticket for the Pixar area, something Incredible, although I think that's less likely. More likely, I think Disney will leave the innovative E-ticket part of the DHS expansion to Star Wars - land, using the Pixar side of things to shore up the quantity of offerings while adding family and kid-friendly stuff that is lacking.

On the dining side, I think DHS actually has some good dining options already. Prime-time Cafe is great fun, as is Sci-Fi Dine-in. Mama Melrose's and Brown Derby have good food and reasonable atmosphere, and Backlot Express and ABC Commissary are decent (not special by any means) for QS. Flo's, however, is a big step up in QS quality, so I'd welcome that addition. Wouldn't mind a Monster's -themed QS place either -- that could be fun.

Only up to page seven and apologies if it's been mentioned but...how lame is the DCA monsters inc ride mike and sulley to the rescue compared to ride and go seek at Tokyo disneyland? I just watched both ride videos and while I get that the DCA ride is an overlay/replacement the difference of quality between the two is astonishly awful. If you have ten minutes I suggest googling the Tokyo disney monsters inc ride video and watching that first then go watch the DCA ride and see for yourself, the animatronics are awful and the ride is just boring in comparison to the Tokyo ride. I know they are not the same ride but more pointing out the use of the IP for something awesome versus something mundane.
The DCA ride is a classic "ride through the plot of the movie" ride. It is a cheap one, along the lines of Snow White as opposed to Little Mermaid, but it's fine. Ride and Go Seek is more of a concept ride that takes you into the setting of the movie, but for a new experience. It also, by the way, looks fairly cheap. The figures are, with few exceptions, not true AA's, but instead cut-outs or statues that rock or turn. But the concept works great and it's a lot of fun.

Uncharacteristically so. Anyone know what's driving it? I mean, as angry as we all sound around here the amount of activity and planned activity is through the roof.
The amount of speculated activity is through the roof. Once it's confirmed, we'll be ecstatic and effusive with praise. Or at least slightly less angry. Or more angry, because our anger can be focused.

Seriously. California is in an extreme drought.
It was last season and only a delay to the game, not a complete postponement. But trust, coming from a far more drought ridden area of the country as I live, any rain felt good. But I will always lament watching a tarp vs a game.

I know I'll be in the minority on this but I would much rather they add Crush's Coaster from DLP than copy Cars Land.

I enjoyed Cars Land and RSR was a great ride but I want each coast to have things that are special and not be copies of each other. Let Cars Land be the draw for DCA and get MGM something of its own.

How could it have been Arendelle? The whole area was planed and built years before the movie came out.

Now, if you want to say that the area "could have been" Neverland or Wonderland or Pixie Hollow, have at it. Personally, I like the Circus theme and think it looks good, what it lacks -- much like all of the FLE -- is more/higher quality attractions. Having a dark ride or two instead of the M&G/FP+ tent/Casey Jr splash zone would have made a dramatic difference.
Honestly a Pleasure Island mini-land (with Pinocchio E ticket) and an actual, expanded Casey Jr. ride would really have negated comments on Storybook Circus being cheap.

But then the Speedway would look that much worse with an immersive area right next to it.

The Incredibles could be made into a great E Ticket. No need to clone Crush's Coaster. I feel Finding Nemo, like A Bug's Life and maybe The Good Dinosaur in the future, is a good fit in Animal Kingdom.
