DHS Parking lot remodel and expansion

I was just at the Poly bus stop at Hollywood Studios (that's #23 almost at the end) Thursday and they were working on the roof side trim and it doesn't look like it will be long before the structures there are completed.

With all these parking lots spread out from the original lots, then to the new cm lot then the lot thats currently still being repaved I wonder what they will rename them to be, since they are sure to go away with the "television, music, movies" theme. I like how MK has two themes then subsets into each category. I could see Disney doing a starwars parking lot with sections darth vader, hans solo etc and then on the opposite side do a disney themed side with buzz & woody, mickey and minnie, etc etc.

yes. They are being pushed back into what was the bus lanes. I'll try to find the drawing and repost it.

Oh I meant the new lots going in behind Galaxys Edge by the current but soon to be old parking gates.

According to information posted earlier in the thread, most of the newly paved parking area is going to be cast member parking. The old cast member parking (which was most of the Television lot, right?) is being converted into guest parking.

I think someone speculated that this last additional "bus shelter" might not be a bus shelter but some other pickup area? Maybe Minnie Vans? Though I think it is just the start of the first row of bus stops.

Definitely looks like they’re keeping the Disney’s Hollywood Studios name.

I agree! I didn't know what direction DHS was heading in, but, now that I see it, the name is quite right for the theme.

Tbh I think that was the plan all along, give out a list of pretty dodgy names fans react badly to pretty much all of them and then stick with what we know.

Technically they could open it up, partially at least, now. They could take westbound Osceola parkway and southbound victory way traffic as these ramps are ready. If they did some creative thinking they could also get the traffic from the old entry redirected to it as well by temporarily using the westbound shoulder of Osceola Parkway and what will become the exit ramp from the new entry point but I don’t think it’s likely as they are only 2-3 months from completion of the entire interchange.
