DHS DHS Parking lot remodel and expansion

Technically they could open it up, partially at least, now. They could take westbound Osceola parkway and southbound victory way traffic as these ramps are ready. If they did some creative thinking they could also get the traffic from the old entry redirected to it as well by temporarily using the westbound shoulder of Osceola Parkway and what will become the exit ramp from the new entry point but I don’t think it’s likely as they are only 2-3 months from completion of the entire interchange.

The original plan was to open the new entrance in two phases a couple months apart.

I suppose that "mystery building" will be the new transportation hub office? The old one was so so tiny, to have park ops leaders in there, a break room, bathrooms, CDS and tons of transportation cms in there it really didnt work with out standing up against the wall. With how big they are making the parking lot and increasing park ops Im assuming a bigger building is what is needed.

Makes sense. They're going to need a state-of-the-art transportation center to deal with SWL crowds.

Permits make reference to a restroom building in that area, so I assume at least part of it will be restrooms.

Does anyone have any pics of the current parking toll booth?
I'm curious to compare the new to the old.

Those new bus shelters are huge, before they didn't have any shelter at all I don't think so definitely a big change.

Has anyone seen any diagrams of what there doing for reconfiguring the tram drop off/ redoing security away from the gates/ incorporating it all together with the new buses and skyliner or is it still too soon for that.

Correct. Resort guests will have no shelter while temporarily using the red loop.

The new loops will ultimately provide far more shade and shelter than the old. And unlike before every resort will actually have a shaded bus stop. Sorry Fort Wilderness.
Weird they'd build shade for all except one resort.
