IMO I could care less...They could have used a good chunk of that for something better.

Channel 6 news just reported that its a new "ride". Very misleading and incorectly stated, these people dont read their sources first and they even stated their source being wdwmagic.

The Narnia stuff was embarrassing i think. The movie was hard to watch and the characters were not very likeable or marketable. The whole home alone, kids can take on an army of beast thing ...is not disney no matter what the movie poster says. Jack Sparrow should get something better than that space if your giving him his own attraction...and what i do not get at all is why they don't have the Black Pearl instead of the columbia ship! You could do so much with a ship of that size and have attractions or shows on the boat itself...
Also what about a pirates theme restaurant instead of the Jack Sparrow thing at DHS? With Mickey, Minnie, Peter Pan, Hook character buffet...

I would rather have a POTC themed restroom instead of what there doing. At least then I would have a reason to go in there.

Clearly the narnia attraction was a huge waste of time. I remember when the first started it, they would somewhat put on a show, with the white witch coming into to play. The second incarnation was literally just a movie trailer. I would often see waits of 30+ minutes, and I just wanted to run up to the people and line and scream "its just a movie trailer. dont waste your time!"
However, the way Disney has talked up this new Pirates version, it seems like it will be different from the narnia version. I will reserve judgement until it opens.

I'm sorry if this was already discussed in another thread, but there is no reason to believe that they'll shut down the POTC in MK due to this new Jack Sparrow ride, correct? That would be so sad!
Legend of Jack Sparrow is a minor and likely temporary walk-through attraction based on the POTC movies. The Magic Kingdom's POTC is a spectacular E-ticket attraction which formed the inspiration for the movies. If WDW were ever to tear it down, my heart would break, the earth would tilt off its axis, Walt Disney would return from the grave and the terrorists would win. Don't worry -- it's not going anywhere!

wow that is one huge loud painted facade, I dont see how it fits/blends into the area at all especially being right next to pixar place. but will be interesting to see how it all turns out on the inside.
I honestly forgot all about this. But I believe I recently saw something saying it will open this fall. I would search for that article, but I don't care enough

So has anyone heard anything new about when this will open? I was also wondering why they even made this new attraction? It doesnt seem to have grabbed anyones attention, nobody seems to care. Was this supposed to help the fact that DHS fell behind AK in attendance? Was this suppose to bring more people to the park, or was it just to replace an attraction that was really just an embarrassment?

These are good questions. It's hard to tell if the lack of attention is because people are just not interested or because there has been very little information about it since the initial announcement.

From the little information that has been released it sounds like it's not going to be a static walkthrough but that there will be some level of effects used in it.
