Ok I just came across this Twitter account that I wasn't even following but theme park insider was re-tweeting their post, the account @vashsky is saying that star wars land is starting from scratch again and that it was orginally planned for it to come out before toy story play land.. I don't belive anything he is saying, but I thought I would put it out there just in case any of our insiders would like to point out if he really is that crazy or not :hilarious:

Gonna assume this fits with what we were told with the "try again" from the board last year.

It's not delayed. It's right on track.

Sound to me like someone's being fed misinformation.

Yeah and it seems people have been trying to tell him that but he has trust in his 'sources' (ex: all the articles written about it being re done from a while back)

I didn't realize DLR and DCA had WDW beat in rides. I never been to DLR/DCA, so I don't know if I'm missing anything??? But I find it interesting that two parks can beat out four parks plus you can walk to both, your resort and DTD.

You took the words right out of my mouth (?text:confused:) and I am currently trying to convince my daughter who is going to the World with me in November, to switch to DLR/DCA. I'm not doing a very good job of it though :(
I really thought it would be great to go to the West coast while the East coast is getting some love.

Spirit is the person you're talking about, right?
Well, @PhotoDave219 and @marni1971 also work hard to bring information to us and deserve our thanks.
@articos and @Lee also have proven valuable and deserve thanks also.
@danlb_2000 isn't an insider (my mistake), but he works hard to check the Orange County permit records and therefore deserves thanks.
I don't claim to be an insider, but I appreciate the work these people do.

Agreed, I don't have any direct inside sources.

I didn't realize this either. I have always heard that DL has so much less than DW. Are there a lot less shows, or mostly less land and less dining and/or merchandising sf?

Yes, there's certainly more shows (of all types -- AA, live, movies) at WDW as well as a ton more dining. Counting just rides ignores a huge amount of WDW like visiting the pavilions in World Showcase and the animal trails at DAK. Collectively, the WDW parks have more entertainment as well (esp the streetmosphere in Epcot).

Spas, golfing, boating, and heaven knows what else I'm not remembering off of the top of my head.

If you like WDW and you've never been to DLR, you're missing out. It's like only ever having chocolate ice cream. Chocolate is great, but there are other good flavors out there. There's certain things I miss about WDW when I'm in California, but there's things about DLR now that I miss when I'm at WDW. Depending on how often you go, you could easily slot a trip out West between now and when Avatar opens or between when Avatar opens and 2021 when DHS is supposed to be finished without missing many new things at WDW. They're no slouch out there when it comes to entertainment, either... there's more parades at DLR and an equal number of nighttime shows until Rivers of Light opens. There's a good amount of shows, but fewer things like Flights of Wonder and more live musicians.

I don't have my stock picture ready, but it's a space roughly the size of Epcot with roughly the same number of attractions as are in all of WDW.

You are. Go.

We went during the Cars land and DLH construction for a convention, and even in a mess it was amazing. It has a low-key, natural magic to it that is distinctly different from the hustle and bustle of WDW. For the under 5 set, it is my preference for proximity alone.
