DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Yes. My feeling is that's the plan. Plans are easier to make before the work begins. Will they be able to keep pace and maintain the gap? That's the hard part.

Will either team be able to keep pace? We just need to not lose as much time as the west coast and we can catch up that way.

Unless there is behind the scene politics over who get's it first. If I were chief executive of one of the parks I certainly would want it to open in my park first.
Definitely, or if not first, at the same time would be the next preference. Anything is better than getting it second (but I pretty much assume that is what WDW will get).

This appears to be the same procedure used for Mermaid. As specialist finish a task at one resort the move to the other to manage the same process. Simple way to streamline and save money.

Yes, but Mermaid wasn't going to draw a huge number of new guests. I would bet there are a large number of people who will go to whichever Star Wars Land opens first.
Agreed, especially if there are months between openings. DHS appears to presently be behind, but if DL opens first due to "saving money", then something is wrong. I haven't visited DL since 2002, but I'd consider changing my vacation plans, especially if WDW doesn't get its act together in general.

WDW likely has no say in the matter. And people deciding to go to DL instead of WDW if SWL opens at the DLR first is music to their EARS. TY.

Agree they likely have no say, but not sure WDW will be so happy if the SWL crowds go west and steal their thunder.

For those of us on the east coast, a DL trip is more expensive and involved with the travel time. For me it would likely take the place of two WDW trips and include other non-Disney attractions in Cali.
