So when surge pricing hits, and all accounts tell us it will, will you think its fair that some people can't afford to go to MK on a weekend?

Universal is charging for a very flexible system that gives people an actual advantage that they do not need. Disney's system is a need that you are forced to use to optimize your trip.

If you asking me, is it fair no it is not. I not defensing them by any means. It actually terrible considering the amount they are making but as someone stated theme parks are not in the business to be fair. I think it is becoming more and more evident Disney going after the One-timers. which is sad, I live in the midwest and want to try and come every year but it get much higher I just have to wait and ever now and then.

I once thought it was only one timers but no, the nostalgia addicts are coming still, by the truck load.

When I first starting going to Walt Disney World I was in college and always felt bad that I could not afford to buy additional E-tickets to ride on more of the big rides. When they went to one price ticketing and I got to do more with the little money I had (I was just starting in my first job and did not earn very much). Now that I can afford to buy a few more E-tickets maybe we should go back to the good old days of Walt and make people pay per ride so lines would be shorter and I could ride more (just kidding).

Every expansion lately has been underwhelming. The former head of WDI gone is a great thing. How do you allow Avatar to go twice over its budget? After the sequels being delayed and no one caring you would think the person in charge would try to keep cost down as much as possible for it. They should have hired some of Universal's Creative to lead the team. The good news is Disney finally realized WDI has spent money irresponsible over the years and are trying to fix the mistakes so future expansions can be better. I think we'll see a Phase 3 and maybe 4 now.

I've said it before and may look bad but if your staying at one of the deluxe resorts, you should get at least more fast passes than other guest. At least 5 fast passes for the price your paying.
I'd go one further and have them exclusively use fast pass. Heck, make it only available to resort guests and the better the resort, the more you'd get. At least then Disney resorts would have some premium besides underwhelming bus service.

I agree that extra perks should be added at the deluxe resorts. Five passes is a good idea and they should allow you to book them at more than one park so you can make plans for morning and evening park visits. Maybe eliminate tiers too? I love Disney deluxe resorts for their atmosphere and locations but the park related perks are really weak for the price.

While I never have and provably never will stay at a deluxe I think that be good. Get rid of fast passes except for one site guest and then level of resort gets a amount. 5-4-3.

As a local with an annual pass, I am completely opposed to this. I would have to stay on property just to avoid lines for three measly attractions while the rates for my pass continue to climb? It's utterly ridiculous. Leave the system as is.

But the system will not stay as is.. you would be better off with on site guests only, using the system if things play out like some people are saying.

I think it's unfair that I have to pay extra to stay at a hotel with a monorail station.
The big difference is that you staying at a monorail hotel isn't hurting the experience of anyone else. Other people don't have to wait longer for the monorail because you are at that hotel. Nobody feels like they're having a worse trip just because you paid more than them.

On the other hand, Universal and pretty much every other theme park give off this "uuck feeling" by letting people who paid more cut in front of regular visitors. It's annoying when you already spend $100 and then have to watch express pass people board before you becuase you didn't fork over an extra $+/-100. And what about a young child who's tired of waiting and sees people going before them from the shorter line? What happens when he asks if you guys can go in that line? How do you explain that? "Ummm carl, that's because they paid a little bit more than us." Or you can lie, I guess, if you can think of one that's even half-believable.

Honestly, the best FP+ surprise for me (and probably best surprise in the last 10 years in general) was that Disney didn't do an upcharge thing like this. I though for sure that they'd sacrifice customer experince for the quick, extra dollars, but no, it looks like smarter minds prevailed here. I like the fact that, sure, hotel guests get to choose first, but everyone is given the opportunity to skip the line an equal number of times. And no lies have to be told. In the end, fastpass+ pretty much saves you no time at all, but 99% of guests don't realize that and/or don't care.

So fastpass+ gives off no negative vibe, and if anything it's actually a morale-booster, while the express pass (for those that don't buy it) is the opposite.

Ah, the Solid Gold Dancers. That would be an E-Ticket where I think the line would be long.
