DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

You have got to be kidding me. You think people should listen to all you have to say but you can not say where you know this from, how much the budget was or how much it has gone over, but just you Disney is doing this all wrong. You need to back up what you say with facts or move on.

are you okay? @marni1971 is working with very sensitive information you should be grateful he tells us anything. god knows he isn't forced too. he is a HIGHLY reputable source and to allow it to remain that way he has to be polite and smart with the information he may or may not have. besides after the project is all said and done we will learn all those numbers anyway...sit tight.

If Catastrophe Canyon is any indication it will remain untouched for around 15 months.
I don't necessarily think that is true. They might have wanted to test how the park would do without the backlot tour in terms of wait times guest traffic etc. while Lights Motors Action can seat thausands of people per show and essentially take them out of the park for a half hour multiple times a day. So I think LMA will be removed in a much shorter time frame than the backlog tour.

That is not remotely true.

Express pass is a premium feature. A truly terrible idea is giving a fast pass to every guest, then having to destroy an amazing queue, or worse, stop designing amazing queues because everyone expects to be given everything.

And yet only let the superior be able to have this feature... It's incredibly unfair.

I think its unfair that half of the pirates queue is unavailable to people in standby.. If they want to zip through lines then they should just have to use something that looks like an airplane jetway.. a plain drab hallway with nothing to look at.
I think it's unfair that we have to read through some user's posts (not yours') to get to the good stuff. But,

I've said it before and may look bad but if your staying at one of the deluxe resorts, you should get at least more fast passes than other guest. At least 5 fast passes for the price your paying.

Unfair because why? They make the system available at a premium price and barely putting a dent in the experience of the regular guest. This makes the system premium. Fast pass is a system that is free but drags down everything else.

People who can't afford this feature won't get the benefits. A system where everyone gets the ability to use a fastpass is much more logical.

A system where everyone waits in the same line with no one except those that are handicapped getting special treatment is the most fair.

This can be observed at Uni with the two main Harry Potter rides which don't offer Express.

Yet with fastpass everyone gets the chance to use the system. Everyone gets to wait till their time and go in front.

I don't see that one is more logical then the other, it just that the two parks chose to go different routes when it came to line control. You have to pay for Universal's system, but it is much more flexible and give you a greater benefit then Disney's system. On the other side Disney's system is free, but that comes with limitations on how it is used.

If you don't like the upcharge for the Uni system, how do you feel about other upcharges at the parks? Both Disney and Universal charge you extra if you want to go to their Halloween events. Is it fair to people who paid to get into the park that they have to leave early because they can't afford the party.?

I find the argument that charging for something is "unfair" to be ridiculous. We are talking about theme park resorts. The whole experience is a luxury. I can hardly fault them for providing further luxuries. If a person feels priced out of a worthwhile vacation, they shouldn't take that vacation.

My problem with how WDW is run has little to do with the cost (it should be expensive and always has been) and more to do with the lack of investment from the company over the last 10 years given the cost. If we were constantly getting new attractions and the parks looked like TDL, I think our complaints would be WAY down.

No one is entitled to a WDW or Uni vacation. Even under Saint Walt's leadership, guests had to pay for each individual ride. If they ran out of nickels, they didn't ride anything else.

We all have to be treated fair unless someones feeling could get hurt. ;) We just can't have peoples feeling getting hurt. (this is about the tickets and what not, not CM losing hours)

I am one who thinks the prices are getting out of hand BUT it is a luxury so.... you either pay it or don't go. Similar to going to a fancy restaurant then complaining about how much it cost.

So when surge pricing hits, and all accounts tell us it will, will you think its fair that some people can't afford to go to MK on a weekend?

Universal is charging for a very flexible system that gives people an actual advantage that they do not need. Disney's system is a need that you are forced to use to optimize your trip.
