DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

I think with Epcot the mistake was putting in too many thrill rides in terms of the total percentage of attractions.

A blend of dark rides, thrill rides, simulators and shows works better than too much of one thing. For me MK has got the blend about right, as has AK.

DHS is too many shows and not enough dark rides, and I think this is what needs addressing. There are the few decent thrill rides but the day can't be filled with the shows and the short thrill rides that you have to wait hours to go on and are over in minutes. The park would benefit from a few mid length, high capacity dark rides that are popular with all guests. It's no wonder TSM is so popular, even the capacity wouldn't be an issue if there were other rides which had the same level of appeal.

The issue is the lack of other similar attractions that have a 10 - 20 minute length and get through the crowds of people. A good omnimover would help this park. Something like Haunted Mansion that is attractive for re-rides but isn't over in a minute or so.

I'm no expert but I dare say the Hollywood Tower would not be easy. LMA could be a pig with all the reinforced concrete. Aside from that the park for the main seems to be built traditionally. Albeit hurricane proof.

So we can flatten it to the ground and rebuild it call it Disneys MK II : Electric Boogaloo - 'This ain't for Kids' Park. It seems like the most sound plan yet. :cautious:

Photo Dave according to screamscape DHS is only going to add 2 Star Wars attractions so the hope for a Star Wars land is not very likely. Lance Hart knows his stuff.

The actual quote from Screamscape is...

" The brief rundown claims that the Jedi Academy will move to an new nearby indoor theater location (likely the former American Idol or Sounds Dangerous theaters), with the Echo Lake area to become Dagobah themed and allow for 2 new Star Wars themed attractions, plus new dining and retail opportunities. "

This sounds like old rumors to me, but even if true I think this would constitute a new land.

Aren't they rumours that have been circulating around here for months (and with the academy a year)?

I think they need more than two e-tickets at this park at this point. They honestly need stuff that takes more time up. People will come for ToT alone. The park just needs more things that people will enjoy which use up a chunk of their time, something like the people mover (if it wasn't off theme completely). a super popular Star Wars ride that is over in 5 minutes would likely make things worse, there'd be even more people there with even less capacity to go around, they need ride capacity desperately, that's why GMR and muppets is going nowhere just yet.

Yes because everyone who is disappointed in the news is just one poster. Get real.

All those who say money is set aside are talking nonsense, none of you know the intimate details of Disneys accounts, so stop talking rubbish.

How are you certain that nearly $3billion has not been set aside when insiders - true insiders have said it is so ... so it is

No, I just don't find it a coincidence that someone comes on immediately spouting the same b#ll#cks of one that just had their account eliminated yesterday....

I don't understand. If you are dissappointed with the news, but think it's nonsense that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Really the only news people ARE agreeing on is that approx 2.8 billion has been approved.

What other news is disappointing?

If this is the level of intelligence we are dealing with this on this forum, then it's hopeless.

'Aliens exist, how can you prove otherwise' - level of arguing.

Enjoy your Disney rewards with this nonsense and over the top censoring of anything negative against Disney.
No censoring. In case you hadn't noticed (and judging by your posts, you haven't), there's plenty of negativity towards TWDC. I should know....

Censoring of anything negative? Haha. Keep reading. There is plenty of negative to find.

Once you have been around for a while you will learn that there are people on this board that often do get access to inside information. These people have proven it in the past be announcing things long before they were announced officially or even reported anywhere else.
