DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Meanwhile, back to DHS... I think they should move Fantasmic to a different park (maybe move it to the Magic Kingdom?) and put in another show. Fantasmic just doesn't seem to belong there to me... What kind of show would all of you like?

Seeing Fantasmic in its original home in Disneyland's Rivers of America... Suddenly everything makes sense! That's why for the boats!

I actually feel like Shanghai's Tomorrowland is aesthetically the worst Tomorrowland they've ever done. It's just a giant steel ribbon tent with some Disney sci-fi attractions inside with a Jetpack and Rocket garden. Where's the architectural variety?

The other Tomorrowlands are cluttered, the future is best described as naturalistic images recreated in steel and glass, like for instance a cloud.

But most especially Jazz.

You just know that somewhere in the vaults of Imagineering is a set of plans for an awesome Tomorrowland Jazz Club starring animatronic aliens and robots that we'll probably never see.

Speaking of DHS nighttime spectaculars, I hope they eventually come up with something broader than Star-Wars-only for the "kiss goodnight." As awesome as John Williams' Star Wars score is when accompanied by fireworks, there are other great movie scores that need some love, too!

Will DHS have some sort of Christmas offerings for 2016? Something somewhat cool. The park still has a lot of cool stuff to do. I'm just trying to figure out if staying at a EPCOT resort would be better than a monorail loop resort. Any rumors would be helpful.

Tomorrowland the movie was bad. I only went and almost everyone I know because of the name Tomorrowland. It would have flopped harder if it wouldn't have been for the iconic name Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland needs and overhaul more than any other land in Walt Disney World. The backside is just plain ugly starting from buzz all the way to Space Mountain. The trees in the back, and not having the metallic stuff plus the cool lighting really makes it look bad. I hope before frontierland that gets an update, but they should really do it simultaneously.
It is almost a zero percent chance of being done simultaneously. Can you imagine have Big Thunder and Space Mountain closed at the same time? I imagine it would either take a long time and you will have to wait for two land to be done in multiple part phases (which will make two lands look ugly due to construction at once) or we can take the more likely route of having each land get overhauled one at a time. But there is pretty much no way both can be done simultaneously. By the way I'm not saying I don't want both fixed I'm just saying it can't be done at the same.

They could be done simultaneously. However too many guests not spread evenly over WDW and under investment in the resort means that they kinda need to take the bull my the horns and just do it.

Exactly. The whole argument that WDW can't refurbish anything because it might make someone unhappy is the reason the resort is where it is now. And it's a bogus argument. No reason they can't add something to Frontierland while also fixing stuff in Tomorrowland. It'd also help if they stopped taking 3-5 years to finish each project!

Besides, given the various reports about how unbearably busy the parks are these days, it probably wouldn't hurt if a few thousand people per day stayed away. Well, the bottom line would suffer for a year or two and would drive the shareholders into fits of rage, but that's the price Disney pays for not adequately investing in WDW guest areas over the years.

I would think Disney would would be announcing some Christmas Offerings in the summer or Early fall for DHS if there is anything.Right now I am guessing right now is the normal Christmas tree, and maybe a Christmas Dance Party.

I am going this low due to 2 reasons with the first one being not a lot of Streets of America is still going to be open after April 2nd. The 2nd what Disney does for Christmas offerings at DHS depends on what they do with Rogue One for Offerings at DHS. Right now Rogue One, has December 16th opening date and I am guessing they will be having Star War Fireworks along some extra Star Wars Offerings as a result. I am bring this up due to what DHS did for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

I think everyone should take oxycodone before reading the spirit threads. ;)

Refreshing things more often would solve a lot of the nostalgia problems. There are people that would hate to see the BatB show go from DHS, but if they swapped it out with a new quality show every 5 years or so people wouldn't be so upset with it changing.

Before Iger things like that DID happen, Yes even at DHS....

You know what's funny?
*checks to see if any construction started* NO

*assumes these projects are going to be long winded projects in typical slow Disney fashion* CHECK

*checks to see if Iger is going to fill DHS with cheap filler projects* CHECK

*checks to see if DHS will still be charging the same* YES

*confirms there's a sprinkling of Disney appologists around making excuses for the slow pace, lack of anything new for the past decade* YES

See you all in a few months time for the same question when i doubt anything would have started.
