The last half of Eisner's reign was no different.

Eisner HIRED Iger during the Paul Pressler era and only the last 5 years which just happened to start with the 9/11 attacks and the huge drop in Orlando tourism/ Yet things like EE and Cars land were greenlit during this period of 'bad Eisner'

Expedition Everest was a needed addition for a very bland park at the time. New things bring new people which is also why they did it like Universal did for Harry Potter. Nowadays Disney (mainly for the magic kingdom) just build to meet current crowds and not as much as attract new people. Whilst Cars Land was also to attract new guests. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Iger was the one who greenlit Cars Land not Eisner.

Exactly. The whole argument that WDW can't refurbish anything because it might make someone unhappy is the reason the resort is where it is now. And it's a bogus argument. No reason they can't add something to Frontierland while also fixing stuff in Tomorrowland. It'd also help if they stopped taking 3-5 years to finish each project!

Besides, given the various reports about how unbearably busy the parks are these days, it probably wouldn't hurt if a few thousand people per day stayed away. Well, the bottom line would suffer for a year or two and would drive the shareholders into fits of rage, but that's the price Disney pays for not adequately investing in WDW guest areas over the years.
They're doing this in Animal Kingdom. Adding a night show, Avatarland, Night Safaris and other various improvements/restaraunts/refurbs all within a year from one another. It can and should be done in the Magic Kingdom like this Big Thunder and space mountain could be closed separately and let us say tomorrowland could start work first along with space mountain redo exteriors etc. While Frontierland could start a year later and as it would take place in mostly unoccupied areas it would mean little to no disturbance, but it would be a very bad idea to close both mountains at the same time, but closing them back to back while having both lands being worked on at the same time could easily work, and if iasw gets relocated to the speedway big thunder could reopen when the entire Frontierland expansion completes while a year later tomorrowland finishes

I was in DHS today, and heard a CM on the radio while exiting ToT, and heard her say "This is (name that I forget) from Hollywood Hills". Now, I know that the Amphitheatre has that in the title, but is that entire section of the park called that and I've missed it all of these years? I figured she'd radio saying she was at the ride rather than that. Not too sure on the validity of the info we have or if the new name of the park is all speculation, but if not could they possibly be naming the park Hollywood Hills? I'd...kind of hope not.

This is correct. Eisner may have gotten a budget for DCA 2.0 in an attempt to fix the failure of the first attempt at a new park but I am almost positive Carsland was Iger and Lasseter's (et al) first throwing down of the gauntlet and returning Disney to quality. And it shows. Can't wait to see Carsland in person.

Having worked at DHS for a few shifts here and there (and all of the parks this applies to), if you are a custodian, manager, attractions, anyone with a radio, you are to radio from the zoned part of the park. Studios only has a few parts. Hollywood Hills is one, Backlands is another (backside of park) and Animation I believe is another. It doesn't mean anything.

For example, if someone is working in the France Pavilion, you might radio something like "France Male to France Female" as a Custodian (as I was). It's signifying that you want to communicate with your co-worker. MK gets a little tougher as they break each individual land into parts. So if I was in the new FP+ area (on Tomorrowland side) cleaning up and needed to radio over to Casey's for some reason, i'd say something to the affect of, "MK Hub Southeast to Casey's Trasher/Busser".

You overhear it much more at Epcot, DHS and DAK than MK as they provided us with earpieces that we used there while the other parks don't for whatever reason.

I worked at DHS for 2 years as a showkeeper so I'm well versed with park operations and radio traffic. I also worked Fantasmic so I got familiar with the cast and their normal work locations.

Hollywood hills amphitheater (Fantasmic) is not an area/zone of the park, it's just the theater even though it is huge. The theater cast is spread all over the park during the day however which is why you heard the radio traffic where you did. Some of there work locations include Indiana jones stunt spectacular (EPIC), The first time in forever frozen show, and Beauty and the beast stage show. This is naturally in addition to the cast that just works Fantasmic. Anyway what I'm getting at is it's not a zoned area as there's only 4 zones in the park Backlands, Icon, Sunset & Main entrance.

Received a rather disturbing note suggesting that Shanghai's problems have indeed impacted the DHS redo budget. Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land will certainly come. It's the additional work that I am concerned over. Hope they see the light of day and don't just give us one more Star Wars ride and call it a day.
Will their quality be compromised though?

Not the individual rides, but the overall project. If they travel down this path. Let's hope they don't and they just merely push things back another 6 months or so and then pull the trigger.

Wow, that's kinda scary to think that DHS which desperately needs some love, may get less than it deserves due to problems in other parks. I know they are one company but by spreading themselves so thin it seems like all parks suffer. Thanks for keeping us updated on inside info!

Waiting another 6 months for this to get going? It's getting sad Disney. Real sad.
