So in summay what is going on ?

Permits for storm water infrastructure and moving of the fireworks launch area have been filed and there are indications that people/department have started to move in the backstage buildings.

Probably a while off fro the new entrance. There hasn't even been a permit filed with the South Florida Water Management District yet. One of the previous permits showed where it's going to be but the permit wasn't actually for the entrance. That permit did cover the land clearing for the parking lot/garage, so I would think that would start soon, probably soon after the holidays.

I'd be surprised if the DHS parking lot looked the same by spring.

The Phineas and Ferb and Lightning McQueen and Mater meet n greets will have their final day on January 4 and won't return to the park.

With Pizza Planet set to close as well, looks like things are starting to happen in this area of DHS.

So considering that One Man's Dream is still going to be open through atleast the time Zootopia comes out it seems, is it possible that the attraction is possibly safe from expansion plans or is it just getting to stay a few more months?

Considering it will be covered with a walkway, it is not necessary that it close before major construction begins.

Forgive me as I'm still slightly playing catch-up, my wife and I will be vacationing at WDW in May and while, I've known DHS will begin closures this month for SWL, what exactly will closed? Pizza Planet and what else? Thanks in advance for the info!

I'm not sure anyone knows for 100% what is closing. Of course, I could have just missed it here on this thread. All I've seen so far are rumors about Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose.

We know Pizza Planet for sure, but Mama Melrose seems to still be rumor at this point.

From the maps the insiders her have provided it seems to survive. I'm glad about that too.

I'm interested too, ABC Commisary and Sci-Fi seem to be in the middle of everything happening but there's been no conversation if they'll be affected or not.

I am old enough to remember when the Sci-Fi Dine-In carhops wore roller skates. If you are currently impressed by the elaborate theming, then you truly would have appreciated the plussing. It was not Xanadu-esque rollerskating, but the cast members were more on point with the storytelling.
