DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Ah...thanks for clarifying @doctornick. I thought the question was about ToT...I'm catching up and didn't read back enough. But I still expect the Earffel to stay for the reasonable future, yes. Unless it's in the way of something, there's no reason to (spend money to) remove it.

I think the problem with the water tower is that even if it's no on land that will be used by TSL, it will be very close to it. Not sure how that will fit in with the theming of the land.

What's announced so far isn't the end. Park Phases 3 and 4 are not green lit and are dependent on several factors. Please don't ask what and where.

If I may be so bold.... Are there projects that are unannounced (but green lit) that would be part of Phases 1 or 2? I guess it depends on what constitutes a "Phase", but it seemed like there was a consensus that more was coming that hasn't been announced and that it would come from the approved budget (i.e. already greenlit).

If I may...
Phases 1-2 (Toy Story and Star Wars) consist of what has already been revealed, plus some entertainment/shopping/dining details.
Phase 3 (if I understand what I'm hearing correctly) would also come from the approved budget. These plans appear to be a bit in flux at the moment, and though likely to happen, not set in stone.
Phase 4...not close enough to worry about right now.

Would phase 3 be an overall rebranding in your opinion? It's going to happen at some point the question is when

So question about the earful tower to the much more knowledgeable unofficial Disney World Historians. Does the water tower hold any real water or is it/ was it a very fancy prop? If it's never held water or doesn't hold water anymore, I think they will remove it soon. That's just my opinion not anyone else's. As for phases although unconfirmed yes, phase three will compose of animated Disney films, but not upon the very popular Radiator Springs land seen in Anaheim. TSL will be within the sights of the Earful Tower so yes imaginers are trying to figure how it comes into play.

The Earful Tower is, by that definition, a very fancy prop. No water now, no water ever.

I'm glad to see they're thinking about it, rather than killing it outright. It's a meaningful structure in the park's history, and its future deserves deliberation.

Believe me as a kid growing up next door to the parks I take pride in the little and often big props that meant something to me. I'd hate for the tower to or the fact that the facades of the entire park will turn from looking like a studio to something more like the MK or EPCOT attractions.
