DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Yeah there has to be something else. The only way the math adds up is if SW Land is truly something unprecedented. There was no Marvel announcement for DCA, and don't they need to break ground on $1.5 billion worth of projects by 2017 (maybe the end of the year)? Obviously some of that is going to Peking and infastructure but what if SW land costs a crazy amount? Just spitballing here though. Still I think there is enough room left in DHS to where they are planning another section.

I want a Combat Carl face character meet & greet. "Combat Carl never gives up! Combat Carl finds a way! Stay in school."
I want Angel Kitty to do meet and greets during the Christmas seasons in Hollywood Studios.

Honestly is anyone actually surprised about any of this?

I think the slinky dog coaster was surprise to a lot of people, myself included, especially given the apparent size of the thing.

This has been known for a long time. It honestly should not come to a surprise to any one who has followed this exact thread or the rumors since the attractions began to shut down. Toy Story Land??? As popular as the IP is come on, there's more to Pixar than just Toy Story and just Cars. Cars turns 10 years old this coming year. Now I don't down play these much needed new lands. But wow, I thought there was more. Star Wars land wont be too big, it has to fit within the limits of the current Star Tours attraction and Indiana Jones.

If they build a multistory garage and have the Star Wars area bleed into what's currently the music lot they'll have a lot more space to play with.
If they build a new road to change the approach of S. Studios Drive further to East they'll have TONS of expansion space.

Agreed. Keep in mind what people are already forgetting though and that is Star Wars land will be the biggest land ever. Which means bigger that carsland or pandora.

I swear I hope they at least get rid of Pizza Planet....I myself want to see a Poultry Palace in TSL..

How the heck was Pizza Planet not built full-scale in the first place?
It's got to be on every kid's list of top-10 fictional restaurants they'd want to eat at.
I still don't understand why Disneyland built Redd Rocket's and not a proper Pizza Planet.

Does anyone have a map of potentially what both areas will take up? Just to see if anything else can come to DHS

There are various maps of guesses, but we don't know for sure yet. Looking at all of them, though, there definitely is another large expansion pad in there. Basically, if you include taking part of the parking lot, there are pretty much 3 large spots, and Star Wars will fill one, TSL will fill another, so there will be at least one left.

(Hey was I just the first person to use the acronym TSL? LOL)

There is enough land for one more unannounced project of similar scale to the two announced today. Personally, I think 25 new acres of theme park announced in one day is spectacular.
It really is. We have been a bit spoiled when they announced SWL during the movie panel though. So much is coming to WDW in the next 5 or so years with new DHS, and Pandora. We should be extremely happy about that.

No but we got the announcement of Avatar back in 2011, it's still under construction so don't expect first phase until 2018 2019 at earliest. Highly doubt all of this will be completed before the 50th Anniversary. At earliest I expect ground breaking to be done Late January early February since they want to wait for the release of the new star wars trilogy to build up the hype. Toy Story will be a work in progress at just about the same time. That I can recall, I can't remember a time when two lands where being built at the same time.
I think this will be faster than Pandora because it looks like a lot of planning is already done. Almost nothing was done ahead of the Pandora public release.

Well, I'm happy with the news. I've read the gripes (before anything was announced) where people on this Forum were begging for it not to be Cars Land. It wasn't, but there's still whining. Just be glad we are getting a unique coaster attraction and unique themed dining.

As for Star Wars...wow. Just WOW! Completely immersive land with aliens, droids...and imagine what the blue milk will taste like? Butterbeer killer? This announcement is exciting and will have us speculating for years.

As Aaron Rodgers said..."R-E-L-A-X...relax."
