Details on Space Mountain Refurb

I would assume the questions regarding the changes to the post show/exit are concerning the space rocks delivery scenes, not the archaic TV screens/video cameras that are reminiscent of the electronics department at Wal-Mart. Is there any question that those are "bad show" at WDW?
Bad show? Nah, don't think so. Old and needs something more futuristic? Sure. But for whatever reason, people still search for the cameras and make faces, laugh and have fun.

And has been a "bad show" for about 20 years. There is so much cool stuff that could go in that spot. Perhaps a leftover Fiber Optic Cityscape :animwink:
(or better yet a brand new one).

No,that rightfully belongs on the SSE decent tunnel,Dench or not.
:zipit:

So, you want to remove 'archaic' monitors and replace them with an archaic leftover 80's fiber optic display. Now that's progress! :brick:

It seems like some people's tomorrows keep getting tripped up by their yesterdays. Let the past remain just that, the past.

how bout screen that wraps around the complete exit tunnel/conveyor. an endless star field for the visual and other components passing by the screen as you return to earth, errr, tomorrowland

They have a cityscape on the screens...Why not have a set of it.

And that was the '90s BTW...1994.;)

Nope.
It's pretty much past the point of no return at this time. They'd feel kinda silly with a bunch of new track sitting over in the Pluto lot with no refurb to use it for.

What are you trying to do Lee, give me a heart attack??

Is there track in Pluto lot? If so, why are there not pictures out there somewhere of it? I'm guessing you are saying there isn't track yet, but that's where it's planned to be put?

The day we start seeing track pieces will be a joyous day, indeed. :sohappy:

That is why I said "or better yet a brand new one". If done right there is a timeless quality to these sets. I was refering to the WoM and SE ones (and was making a joke, sorry I forgot to add the laughing icon for you). But I would definitely love to see something creative from Imagineering in that spot. I like jmaxwell's idea of a tunnel shaped video screen, very good. For those that think they would miss the Walmart camera monitors, why not just buy a mirror and you can look at yourself all day? :p

It's like Lee is tempting us with a LITTLE more info... But not enough to form a complete mental picture. Just enough to keep me worked up about it.

Why do I feel like I'm watching an episode of Lost. :lookaroun

:ROFLOL:
Exactly. Both Lee and Marni have gotten quite good at leaking the smallest bits of information. I guess to make sure we keep checking back for more info. I'm Addicted! :hammer:

I prefer the solid white top; but our industrial, baby-blue corrugated metal base needs to be themed ASAP!
Personally, I'd love to see the top get a metallic paint job, silver, gold, bronze, something like that, so that it matches the rest of Tomorrowland. I don't know how the top "reads" for people who have never seen the original Tomorrowland, but to me is sticks out like a sore thumb.

with the proper sun direction and angle, that would blind any pilot/passengers of passing planes.

Hah!
No and no.
I don't wish any sort of coronary issues on anyone, and there is not track currently on site.

Actually it was pretty much an educated assumption that they will use Pluto for a staging area. Makes sense due to it's proximity to the Mountain.

Honestly, Martin and I have pretty much spilled all the beans we have at this point...unless he's sitting on something I don't know about...:D
Oh...yeah...we were talking about trains. I got a little confirmation of new trains this morning, so yeah....new trains.

Why do I feel like I'm watching an episode of Lost.
Maybe thats because the track will be built by AMEC, a division of Widmore Industries.:lookaroun

Yea, that'll at least be easy; There are tons of staging areas nearby.

And Central Shops is literally right down the street.

*wonders if they will demolish the arcade, old space mountain entrance building, and skyway building and just make one new entrance building instead* :lookaroun

ohhhhh I hope the groovy moog music in the zig zag queue stays or is put somewhere else in the ride

i would love for the arcade building and the skyway building to be demo'd. the only thing that skyway building is good for is a stroller drop off and bathrooms. they could easily revamp.... and as far as the arcade goes... it sure is ugly

I remember seeing them all stacked up at WDW Central Shops (that's where the work was being done), but I dunno if they were completely new or just getting fresh fiberglass
EDIT: Lee beat me to it with the real answer, rather than my wild guess. :)
