As always, it is fun before these panels to discuss with the good people of wdwmagic. Even if it ends up being disappointing.

Fingers crossed though, I am fairly optimistic for tomorrow.

No idea either way about a new night parade for MK. If the artwork for EU is anything to go on, it seems like they intend to have a big fireworks spectacular at least.

The Universal Studios park in Japan has one.

And further back the Magical Starlight Parade (which was Universal Japan's answer to Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights)

Had to run off to the Studios….but here are a couple of quick pix of just one of many displays that greet attendees as they arrive.

These are original puppets used for MKs former show ‘Legend of The Lion King’.
As a puppeteer for over 40 years, and a big fan of that old show…this was very cool to see!

Just a little surprised there is no signage denoting where these are actually from….just a generic ‘Hey, it’s the Lion King…’ sign next to them.
This is D23 after all…and they are usually pretty good at labeling displays.
If I didn’t know these figures or were aware of that past production I would not really know where these were from.

There is a giant ‘Figment’ display here too….did not have time to snap a pic, I shall in the future.

I’m fairly certain that figment on display is the one they use for runDisney races in front of Imagination. I have taken a few pictures with a figment that looks exactly like that while running the races. Holding a lightbulb just like the one on display.

Was it this?

Just saw three people walk by with two clear shopping bags each brim full of the limited edition ‘100 years of animation’ pin collection.
Doesn’t look to me like there are any buying limits or restrictions happening….

Have you seen any Haunted Mansion (not pins) stuff?

The headline reads “Disney Parks Unveils Future Projects, Surprises at Destination D23.

I think this is confirmation we are getting something brand new that we haven’t heard about. Sure, this could be schematics and I’m grasping at straws.

Yeah, the vagaries of English. This can be read as:

Disney Park unveils future projects, and, Disney Parks unveils surprises.

Not necessarily that the future projects are surprises.

So, for future projects, it could be a rehash of the Epcot refreshment or the previous Blue Sky stuff.

And for surprises, a M&G with Darby O'Gill.

I haven't followed the specific topic at all, but is there any chance they could repurpose Galactic Starcruiser into a de facto expansion of Galaxy's Edge? Specifically continuing the shuttle from the park and having that be a kind of dinner theater type of offering? I'm picturing a Hoop De Doo type setup with reservations to be able to go so not just a free for all but something that could certainly be monitized easily.
Highly doubtful

In the Parks
No
Here's my optimistic prediction for what they will announce:
  1. Update on Tiana, with an animatronic video
  2. Moana replacing Dino-Rama—no Zootopia (I'd rather they do Moana in Magic Kingdom Adventureland, but if it's a flume ride, can't exactly put it next to Spl...ahem, Tiana.
  3. Beyond Big Thunder project moving ahead (legit no idea which thing takes precedence, I'd prefer villains to either Encanto or Coco, I think. I just want Fire Mountain, one way or another!!!)

that as "Updates from other parks around the world"...not necessarily anything local or stateside... Maybe they will talk about an exciting project they are building in Asia and a new popcorn bucket for WDW...
I have been a D23 member from the beginning...and they are really grasping at straws the past few years...

This was along the lines I was thinking, although I just sort of envisioned Galaxy's Edge expanding to include it - eventually. They could use it for entertainment, queue space, etc.

I'd be surprised if they announce anything with Starcruiser tomorrow. I'm not an Accounting/Finance guy, but it was pretty clear they killed this off on September 30th specifically because of FY depreciation.

I would think it would have mothball a little before they could flip it to another purpose but I talking out of school a bit.
