I read

that as "Updates from other parks around the world"...not necessarily anything local or stateside... Maybe they will talk about an exciting project they are building in Asia and a new popcorn bucket for WDW...
I have been a D23 member from the beginning...and they are really grasping at straws the past few years...
Unless they just talk about the final phase of Epcot I'm sure will see the Figment M&G character making a "Special Appearance to explain of the new meet area at Imagination....

But all In all it's still this expectation..

I looked it up. There's 26 packs of 4 pins for that entire collection at $100 each. They might just be buying the whole series. That's seriously a lot of pins for just single series.

2630.00 pre tax.... not sure if there are ap discounts or not. I know people go crazy for pins.. but this sounds absurd.

They will be mad if these ever make it to the character warehouse for 10 dollars a set. :)

If it was Mickey's of Glendale then it was already marked down to Cast Member Discount Price levels (actually found the pricing for shirts and stuff pretty reasonable ... but not sure the specifics with pins like that)

WDW news/mentions predictions:

  • Figment meet and greet character makes an appearance on stage
  • Hatbox Ghost date announcement or at least acknowledgement
  • Journey of Water video reel and talk that will end with something like "that's not the only place you might see Moana soon..." hinting at the AK project but not elaborating on it
  • Tiana update
  • MAYBE new Epcot show

Let's take a closer look at the graphic they released:
1694209185532.png

We've got Tinker Bell, Tree of Life, the silhouette of a rabbit (Judy Hopps?), Figment(!), a ship's wheel, and a bunch of random shapes I can't make out or decipher.

My thoughts:
Tinker Bell=Fantasy Springs News from Tokyo
Tree of Life=one of the two Dinoland redevelopments
Rabbit (Judy Hopps?)=Zootopia at Shanghai (I hope)
Figment=Meet and Greet
Ship's wheel=Disney Cruise Line

The rabbit is almost certainly Oswald. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce the new passholder magnet is themed to him and will be available on the dates of the JoW preview.

Left to right, top to bottom:

Part of a Mickey
Mardi Gras Mask
Unknown (will need a higher resolution, I put it into photoshop and it's just blobby spikes)
Aladdin's lamp
Oswald

Tink
Crescent Moon
four pointed star
Tree of life
Ship banner

Four pointed star
buildings of Arendelle?
3D delta (for what?)
Figment
Ship wheel

It would seem the Mardi Gras mask, crescent moon, and four pointed stars are all for Mardi Gras (and Tiana's)
The ship banner and wheel for info on the cruise line

Oswald has a visual presence at the event.
Signage, etc.
There is also a small standee for a photo op.

Here is a look at the credentials for the event, and the huge padded Lug branded backpack ‘goodie bag’ given to every attendee.
You had a choice of three colors, and all of them are packed full of rather nice Disney goodies.
I will take a shot of all of those things later….

Had to race over here to the Studios after picking up my credential, and have had to carry this thing around all day.
No time to ditch it at my Resort room…
Reminds me why I never bring bags, but this is a nice giveaway.

Speaking of Oswald….

Here is the event exclusive pin that is contained within the attendee goodie bag.
I am sitting here in the Studios forecourt to take a break and am just now getting a chance to look in my goodie bag and saw this.
Quite nice!

Couple of other studios themed items…including a ‘Hollywood Mickey’ mini poster print and a small metal tray with the Disney Studios logo on it.
There is a lot more…just need time to go through it all!

Had to run off to the Studios….but here are a couple of quick pix of just one of many displays that greet attendees as they arrive.

These are original puppets used for MKs former show ‘Legend of The Lion King’.
As a puppeteer for over 40 years, and a big fan of that old show…this was very cool to see!

Just a little surprised there is no signage denoting where these are actually from….just a generic ‘Hey, it’s the Lion King…’ sign next to them.
This is D23 after all…and they are usually pretty good at labeling displays.
If I didn’t know these figures or were aware of that past production I would not really know where these were from.

There is a giant ‘Figment’ display here too….did not have time to snap a pic, I shall in the future.
