The clear, sleek and futuristic look of the Lucite clashed with the marble and steel of a certain War Memorial.:lookaroun:lol:

Indeed. Sad but true. Why mess with Excellence....? For buku-bucks i guess ( ca ching..$$$$$).

Someday...SOON i hope....i will revisit EPCOT and not have to see those montrosities. Perhaps, someday...very soon.

How about personalized and pavilion guide covers? With sponsors, of course. :D

Top the OP: I will say that when the current guides came out they were ahead of the trend in the market. I dont have examples of this nor the time to find them, lol. I think you are right. A new branding style needs to be developed for the park maps of Epcot.

SirNim. Nice work. I wish I had the time to create a few. Maybe this week.

Good thread.

Ooooh, what year was it from?

It looks like the last one the girls have is from 2004. It is almost square in shape and has Goofy on the front cover. There are lots of little activities for the kids to do ..word search, clues that you find the answer and then one letter from each answer creates the answer to a 'riddle' of sorts. It really would be a nice addition to the Kid ______ fun stops.

Everyone who submitted their own guidemap suggestion have some really great looking ones, but I will have to agree with a lot of you and say that sirnim as one excellent looking map. Really impressive. Any chance you could actually submit that to Disney for consideration?

Many thanks. The primary artwork is by a third party I linked to, but it seems that since it was commissioned by Disney, Disney retains all rights to the work, which would allow them to use it. Some people at the company are known to patrol these forums—it's possible they've already seen this thread, and if they like it, they legally have free reign to use it.

Oh, and the current guidemaps don't have Nemo on the front anymore, it's the Mission: SPACE image they used a few years ago.

I was there mid august and they had nemo on the front. It seems like they change it back and forth from the M:S and Nemo

You guys would make some AWESOME guide maps. If you guys have so much skill, I wonder why they would put something like nemo onthe front.. They really make you "wonder" and want to go sample and experience everything there

Figmentsfriend: I too agree with you. I like to collect the guidemaps and from my last 3or4 trips in the last2 years, I haven't taken an epcot one cuz it's always the same!

What you saw were probably just leftovers. They don't necessarily put any priority on switching them all out at once.

If you look on the Tips & Information page down near the Disney Visa logo, you'll see the version date of when it was printed.
