There was a version of SSE where during the descent, there is a scene where the mother is being told she is having twins(or something like that). Any idea when that version existed?

Completely gut the ride except the omni-mover part and put something of actual interest in there

She is not responsible for how the final show script turned out. She was on the project team. These are not written by a single person. Pam is a talented writer.
She is credited as Show Writer. I take it she led a team of writers then and one of them felt it had to be dumbed down?

Attractions, for better or worse, are created by project teams. That’s industry wide. At WDI, there are quite a few show writers, at various levels. Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and below could all be or have been show writers or senior show writers. They also contract with freelancers and pull people from Creative Entertainment. Even within WDI there are different divisions. At all stages of attraction development, there are multiple people who may have input in the various versions of the show script. There’s usually someone or someones on the project team in charge of the show script to make sure it doesn’t get off track. In the case of SSE, there’s more eyes and opinions and politics involved, and the final script didn’t end up as intended. I don’t want to point fingers at specific parties, though.

Okay, Then why is Pam the one interviewed and gets the media attention if it's not under her creative direction? I am assuming she had some say or editorial control on the script. the reason I am so curious about this is I used to aspire to be a WDI Show Writer (I even have a script for SSE v.5 written just in case. ) but have accepted that probably will never happen, Thus I am channeling my passion for writing and Disney through the articles in my signature.

She drew the short straw?

I choose to have hope because of posts like this, re: what was being talked about for the 2007 refurb:

A "recap" of the ride via offride projections. Tomorrow’s Child re recorded (much like O'Canada! was)

Just the fact that they remembered and thought to bring back a beloved, timeless ending gives me hope. If there's even a 0.01% chance that this type of ending (like say, Bach's Sinfonia No. 2 in C Minor) is being kicked around for 5+ years from now, I'm here for it. Though as exciting as that was, the quip about WDI having looked at "both [concepts]" for Time Racers which was the rumored SSE rollercoaster replacement back in the early 2000s, I'm still going to be nervous for a while. It's quite a feeling.

The uncomplicated answer is it is somewhat under her creative direction within her area, and yes, she had some say, along with a bunch of others above her. The show producer has ultimate responsibility, but in the case of a marquee attraction like SSE there are many principals and divisions who can (and do) get involved, along with the Operating Partner. There are also many versions of show scripts from multiple periods in the attraction’s development timeline that may compete and get pieced together. There are a whole lot of layers with varying input and politics. As far as who gets trotted out to speak, that could be anyone available at the time. It doesn’t even have to be someone associated with the project, although they usually are. It’s not an indication of someone’s status within the project.

If you want to be a show writer, get samples of your work together and keep an eye on the Disney jobs site and the Universal postings. Never say never.
