Not exactly. Backlit LED screens would still cast light.
They would but barely anything compared to LCD. Most modern cell phones with (O)LED displays are good examples of this. Set a black background, turn the brightness up to max, and you'll see how there is next to no light coming from the background. Compare to something like a old cell phone or a Gameboy (3DS) and you'll see how bright LCD is compared to LED.

This is technically true. However, display technology has improved dramatically since 2007 such that it’s probably not a concern anymore. The best example I can think of off the top of my head is the difference between Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy in 2009, which had a terrible light leak effect on the projections, and the Hyperspace Mountain upgrade in 2015 which shows absolutely no light leakage whatsoever. On an LCD display, it only gets easier. That’s why the LCD screen of an iPhone 7 or 8 can almost pass as an OLED display in the dark to the untrained eye in a way that the iPhone 4 couldn’t.

I’d love for the touchscreens to go away, but I’d be very pleased to at least have an upgrade. :)

I do like Judi Dench's voice for SSE, but do agree that the script can be goofier than the past narrations. I don't mind it too badly, but if Dench just read off Irons' script word for word, it would be a very good narration overall. More "grand and miraculous." :)

My personal favorite is Irons' due to the ending of the narration and the soundtrack that accompanied it. I love listening to just the soundtrack for the final 2-3 minutes of the Irons' version. The screens and making your own future was an interesting idea but I really miss seeing actual props and figures in the descent tunnel. Hopefully they can come improve it in the next refurb.

I love it just the way it is, but a refurbishment would be welcomed also. It's not as bad as Carousel of Progress. Most of my family won't go near that attraction. That truly needs to be refurbished!

I just got off of Spaceship Earth and noticed something odd, for the first time ever I could visibly see multiple illuminated Exit signs from on-ride. They were pretty bright and lit up small areas such as the abandoned sections of the decent. Are these new or am I just blind?
Update: The Exit Signs are “gone” (turned off) now, and I noticed a few things happening on the inside. For one, the Matrix-Style Projection was broken, and also, my picture was way more screwed up than usual. These are nothing major or out of the ordinary, just a bit of an update. Also, some projections are broken in Project Tomorrow and another Siemens reference was removed.

I rode at around 6pm last night and the matrix projection was working.

My favorite narration is "YOUR VEHICLE IS TURNING!!! DON'T FREAK OUT!!! VEHICLES TURN EVERYDAY!!! LOOK, WE ARE HALFWAY DONE TURNING AND WE HAVEN'T KILLED YOU YET!!! HEY!! IF YOU HADN'T NOTICED, YOUR VEHICLE IS TURNING!!!!!"

I would gladly wear shoulder harnesses like RnRC if it meant they could ditch that.
