They wouldn't... Which is why Marvel at DCA is destined to either A) not fit in with the California theme (I'm totally fine with that) or B) be something vague and generic so that it does fit in (please no!!!) No matter what route it takes, that space isn't nearly large enough to do Marvel justice.
I agree with that last point. I feel the same is true of SWL. What they should have done, was build a true "adventure" park with Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar (but NOT TSL). Something to appeal to the more action-oriented thrill seekers.

Wow!!!
Massive expansion to WDSP, much larger than the DCA remake.
What I take away from this is that Disney is tired of how difficult it is to do business in California and has decided to shift its focus
on areas that appreciate the huge economic benefit.
After Star Wars, which let’s face it Disney has no choice but to add it to Anaheim as well as Orlando, it looks like DLR is being virtually abandoned in terms of any major expansion
and development.
Whether it’s Squaw Valley trying to expand or
other ski resort expansions being completely axed, or Disney canceling planned parking and entrance changes/expansion, California
has become a terrible climate to do business.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the entertainment studios move more than just their production out of the state in the future.
So sad.

I honestly can't tell if this is satire or not! Damn internet.

A couple things:

1. This is no indication of what is to come to DCA in terms of Marvel. Wait to see if they make some announcements at Comic-Con this year.
2. Just because GotG:MB didn't come to DLP doesn't mean its considered a failure. This is still wishful thinking by those that hate it. It's a unique attraction offering that will not be cloned, something that fans have claimed they wanted. The only time it'll be considered a failure is if they either bring back ToT (not gonna happen) or tear it down completely (again not gonna happen).
3. DLR will be getting another major overhaul in the coming years. Likely we will get announcements next year (post-SW:GE) at D23 of the next phase of projects.

Good question...similar along the lines of, "Who thought it was a good idea to theme an entire park around the state that the park is in?"
California is a state with a very rich history, lots of diversity, as well as mythos and legends that can all be explored in a theme park. I'll always defend the idea of a California based theme park and I don't know how Maine would be a better location for a park celebrating California's history. There was a reason Disney's America was going to be built in Virginia, near the nation's capital, and not in Winnipeg, Canada.
But as @FerretAfros mentioned, Superhero's live in our world/universe. So why would you want to have an entire park, themed to our world?
For what it's worth there are a few locations, such as Wakanda, Asgard, and other planets, as well as dimensions, that can be explored in an entire theme park (not so much in a land). I'd also argue New York is a good location for a theme park land since there are so many fictional buildings in the Marvel Universe that could be recreating such as Avengers Tower, Oscorp, Baxter Building, Daily Bugle, etc. What I think they are doing, in both WDS Paris and Hong Kong, however, is replicating the Avengers HQ in upstate New York, which could be cool in showing off gadgets and gizmos, but it's not the most exciting place to visit as far as lands go. If it was a singular attraction set in the Avengers HQ or a SHIELD facility, that'd be neat, but neither work as an entire land for me.

A major expansion was announced today for Disneyland Paris, including its own Marvel Land. Could this be what the DCA one will look like as well? And could it possibly be taking over Hollywood Blvd? Or will it be a new area built using an expansion pad?View attachment 267088

I hope not. That looks like an office park in Irvine, with some bland mural painted by a corporate-approved art student and a spaceship landing pad on top of a roof instead of a normal helipad.

I do have to laugh at all that money they are going to spend in Paris and not fix that horrific entrance.

Seems to me that all the money is going into Star Wars and Frozen in that transformation. They are going cheap with Marvel. Re-themed RNRC the stage show is over there and whatever they do with Armageddon. Wouldn't read too much into Paris's plans as what they do with DCA unless you are talking price point instead of design.

I think that maybe they learned their lesson about the fan community. They got a backlash about mission breakout because it was the first Marvel ride added in the middle of a park with no support theme around it.
I have a feeling they will go ahead and build Marvel studios in Paris and once that is done and popular change out the TOT so that it becomes the entrance gate for the Marvel studio area there.

Correct. Frozen is the big grand new land there. Marvel is just a retheme of older buildings and Star Wars is half the size of the originials.

That’s an interesting theory. I don’t think they care about the backlash from those of us on these sites or even all of the hate they got on Facebook and the park blogs but I think the numbers speak for themselves. GOTG:MB (a six month old ride) tops out at about a 60 minute wait and the whole summer of heroes thing was a huge bust.

I agree the TOT days are numbered there but I don't think they felt any backlash from the fans. Fans don't drive corporate policy. Money does and MB is just as busy as the TOT was. Theme didn't matter.

I think dca's will have a completely different aesthetic. The same one as gotg mission breakout, so expect the rebirth of bronze tomorrowland.

I bet what Disney really cares about is which attraction is selling/sold more merchandise. The lines in the gift shop are probably a better indicator than the lines out front of how successful Disney considers the transformation.

DLP is hosting a sold-out, after hours ToT party soon. I'm not sure if they feel spending any money on MB is worth it when there's so much else to do with the park.

Plus it would mean one more attraction closed during construction.
