Don't know how valid any of the rumors are, but Jim Hill mentioned this week that execs were scoping out Wonders of Life for something Black Panther related potentially and that I guess use of Black Panther is somewhat gray area at WDW since he only appears in some artwork at IOA and not as part of an attraction. For what it's worth...

Jim isn't a great source, unfortunately. Execs have indeed been looking at WOL, but so far, Panther is 100% off-limits. The legal research was done prior to the film release, so unless someone changes their tune, WDW will be a Wakanda-free zone.

Eastern gateway was going to have a parking structure and bus drop off across Harbor Blvd. with a bridge linking the area to the Esplanade. With the bus drop off moved, the area where it currently sits would be taken over by DCA. The thing I don't understand, though, is, if Marvel land was supposed to take over the bus drop off area to the north, then why change Tower of Terror to the south? People keep saying the attraction would act as an entrance of sorts to bridge Hollywood Land and Marvel land but apparently they're on opposite sides of the park. Unless the plan was to remove the newly renovated Hyperion and popular Frozen stage show which makes no sense.

Oh so I’m guessing they wouldn’t want all the people being dropped off by bus to have to cross the street without the bridge?

Anyway, Sounds like the plans kept on changing after GOTG was green lit. So now instead of using the eastern gateway Space it sounds like Marvel Land will be confined to th expansion pad behind TOT and Bugs Land. Could be a good thing. Maybe by the time the Eastern gateway is back on they ll have a new land cooked up for the Hollywood Backlot/ expansion area. Especially if the Mickey ride goes in Toontown.

Maybe they can use that space for Tower of Terror sort of like what the original plans called for.

I thought the rumor was that the WOL might actually be the building used for the proposed Space restaurant.

someone actually mentioned that the artwork looked extremely familiar to the shape of the inside of the building.
This person suggested that they would build a ship like building inside the dome with large windows. Then they could use the internal shape of the dome to do a 180 projection of space.
So basically the inside of the dome would be used as one huge screen and they wouldn't have to build a new structure.

I just remember i saw it on a video that someone linked on one of the fan sites from one of the bloggers.

WOL is not the site for the Space restaurant.

I have no idea what is really considered the active DCA Marvel thread, but this one will seemingly do...

It's Tough to Be a Bug! is rumoured to be closing for good at the end of this weekend. It seems no announcement will be made but who knows.

I will bite and say the Disneyland Calendar now supports this with ITTBAB quietly closing tomorrow. I still somehow never lose hope that this project will start at any second, a good 3 years later.

It's now listed on the refurb calendar, but that could be just a transition into a new movie preview. With Avengers and Ant-Man both having movies coming out in April and July that would be a good place for the previews.

Ah yes Antman. Rational heads prevail. I’ll see you all next time in 6 months the glimmer of hope is briefly rekindled that this project isn’t vaporware.

Horizons was starved, abandoned, and orphaned by Disney. Had it the love and care and updates as it should have, it would remain a modern day classic such as Pirates.

I always thought the biggest handicap that Horizons had was the circa 1982 fluffy feathered hairdo's the animatronics had.

If they had just updated the hair on those animatronics to something beyond the Early Reagan Era, it would have done wonders for the pavilion's vibe as a whole.

The calendar shows it will be re-open on March 30, 2018. So its not down long. I am hoping its just a refurb as I would much rather see the actual show than a movie preview on my upcoming trip.

And honestly the Great Movie Ride.

Meh... The Great Movie Ride was like a slow crawl through a bad wax museum. People kind of embraced it towards the end because it was one of the last surviving AA extravaganzas, but the reality is that a lot of those things were totally static or barely even moved and weren't AAs at all. It was devoid of soul and wit. The Disney ride equivalent of those throw away references from all those "____" Movie parodies.

It would seem a little strange for them to start closing Bugs Land while they have another land completely shut down. Closing a Pixar related land during Pixar Fest would seem equally strange.

If a permanent closing of Bugs Land was going to happen, it seems like it would make more sense to do it this fall. If the aforementioned was the plan, why would they bother spending time and money refurbing ITTBAB right now?

Also there is a new AA extravaganza opening next year in SW:GE with Battle Escape.
