I am still trying to understand this statement. Everything you and Martin has said so far is consistent with what could be seen in the picture.
My only thought is that this is a model of the ride vehicle inside the "DISH" at Imagineering so then it's not the finished product. Otherwise I like you have no idea.

You mount the "cycle" like you would any bike. There are two sets of grip handles, one closer for those with T-rex arms like myself, and one a bit further away for longer arm lengths. You pull these grips towards you which causes the back of the restraint system to come in contact with your body. The device will lock in this position and obviously the CMs check that all is secure and tight enough. I saw a few fluffier folks ride without a problem as did several kids. It is a really neat set up, in my opinion and seemed to be forgiving for most body types. I can try and track down pictures, if you would like?
Thank you I love was really curious on how this worked.

Actually, he was the person that originally posted the photo. I found it there and shared it here, but I see that he has requested that it be removed from this site.
I love Tom, but once something is published online it can't be prevented form being shared. By posting it online o a public site he has made it public. If anything Disney could ask him to take it done, but how it proliferates on the internet is not his power to determine especially since the imagine was not created by him in the first place, its not. A phtot he took or an item he painted or drew.

You shouldn't have taken it down, once it was published online its fair game and public, plus we cited it was from his website also so if its a credit issue... it shouldn't be. I have the photosaved on my computer and am tempted to repost it!

I don't think this has anything to do with the picture being out there, since it is still on his site. It's probably more related to issues between the this site and his.

The photo is still on the other site. I think Tom just didn't want the picture posted here, since he and Steve are always fussin' and feudin' like the Hatfields and McCoys. Lots of sites prefer you to link to their content rather than repost, which seems fair, but in this case linking can't happen.

I knew Disney wasn't going to let us down with this. Just from this leak alone they delivered. This is a game changer.

Tom is a whiny brat. Honestly, I can't think of anything to love about the guy.

Censorship at it's best.

Censorship? I am assuming this is some subtle sarcasm and you are taking a dig at the more paranoid members of our community. If not, then....

WOW!!! I just looked up the picture. This is really shaping up to be a ground breaking ride experience. Go Disney!!!

With that said, there is no way that I am going to straddle that banshee like a horse. That doesn't look safe either. The car has to be an early prototype.

I hope Banshee Cars will be just like Space Mountain or something.

Other have confirmed that even though this may have a been a prototype you will still be sitting on it like a horse. The Tron coaster in Shanghai has a similar type of seating. I have no concerns about actual safety, although it may give you the sensation that you are not as secure as you really are.

I know. There's a lot of tech packed into each seat.

I find the visual hardware transitions from load to flight mode particularly interesting as I'm sure you do too.

A horizontal version of Back to the Future: The Ride with projected lighting, hah. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a simple solution to an elaborate problem but it works and it'll be dark enough to be convincing.

WORTH REPEATING: Since everyone is congratulating Disney for what's being depicted in that photo- that's not the ride. That's not what you'll be on.

I have never heard this before. I thought it was going to be more like Dumbo with screens around you.:p;)

Think of it more like a large version of this but with proper restraints:
b9461dc5bdde8ff0984478717105faf0

With some upgrades to make it feel like you're on an animal. All attached to a large arm/platform thingie that slides you out to the screen similar to Soarin. I know that all seems corny, but when you're off the ground like Soarin and that little thing you're straddling is moving around- you're going to need a new change of underwear if they decide to really make use of the ride system's capabilities.

I really just hope they've gotten the projectors sorted out. I'd hate to see all of this tech wasted on substandard projectors because Cristie hasn't released an 8k projector yet. 99.99% of riders probably won't be able to tell the difference though. Still, 16k of total image is going to be mindblowing if/when they can get it figured out.
