Yay, it's been about 6 months since I've been on here and I'm ecstatic that I get to read an authentic Buddy TR! I don't care how short it was, I know I am guaranteed hilarity, hijinks, and hoots! :D

Oh my God! Where the heck have you been? I was starting to think your cat ate you! Anyway, welcome back!! :) :)
What he said sending prayers and pixie dust. We've been missing you around here xoxo

Blackjack Phil was always a lover of animals, which explains his being on the back of Dumbo.

The parrot on your head is HYSTERICAL! I laughed out loud at all of the costume pictures. :hilarious:

Also, I never saw a pirate on Dumbo before--Phil may be starting a new trend? :p

PART SIXTEEN - In which I get on my soapbox, rant and rave, and possibly lose half of this thread's readers

(WARNING - THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS A SPECIFIC POLITICAL VIEW AND IT DOES NOT FAVOR THE CURRENT PRESIDENT - PLEASE SKIP TO CHAPTER SEVENTEEN - OR ABANDON SHIP IF YOU PRiEFER MR T. - no hard feelings if you do)

This is the part where I am going to post a picture that I posted on the political board, and when I did that, the people down there ripped me a new one, and as a result, I decided never to post or visit down there again. And as a result of that, my blood pressure has been great lately! Hurray!!!

BUT - I just want to warn you that if you are a Trump supporter, you are totally going to object to this section of the trip report, and I would strongly urge you to just skip it, and go straight to part seventeen. Seriously. There will be drinks and smiles and Billy Ocean there, and you won't have to hear my rant. Or, you can just decide that I am a horrible person and never read my posts again, and that is fine too.

Okay......so...........I hope all the people who should skip to Chapter 17 did so. And if so, here is what happened next:

So, there we were, minding our own business, drinking around the world, and having basically a really amazing time.

I come to Walt Disney World to escape the real world. Don't you?

Phil comes because he is dragged. Or so he says. But I think once we are there, we both want to feel like we are insulated from the insanity of the current times.

I'm just going to come out and say it. We are not Trump supporters, to put it mildly.

This was me, after voting for Hilary. She was a flawed candidate, but at least she would not make everyone nervous that she was going to blow up the world.

This is a reminder of the protest that popped up in Union Square station after the orange nightmare won - post-it notes of love and anger and hope from New Yorkers:

Boy, this trip has everything. Flashbacks, controversy, etc. Zzzzzzz......Annnnyway, flash forward to EPCOT a few weeks ago.......

There we are, drinking beer, and enjoying the beautiful day, all then all of a sudden, I see a group of people wearing all sorts of Trump memorabilia- Make America Great Again caps, shirts, and jackets, and this lady, who was right in front of me, and who I do not feel at all bad for photographing:

This is why the people on the political board felt it was okay to rip me a new one -

They told me how "classy" (read - sarcastic) I was for taking a picture of a woman without her permission, and of course, I had to remind them that class is my middle name, having locked myself out of a hotel room naked and all, among other things. I also reminded them that this is a world of cameras, and people were snapping my picture without permission just last night when I was dressed as a pirate. If I did not want to be photographed, I could have dressed as a tourist visiting Orlando, and then no one would have taken my photo. If Miss Pink Trump hat didn't want attention, she could have left it in the car.

And it got very heated on that board, and it's not worth going into here except to say that if you decide to come into a theme park bringing your political baggage as your outfit, you are basically asking to send a message and be some sort of center of attention. Therefore, the only thing I feel bad about is that I only got a picture of her and not the rest of her group. They looked like a float in a Trump parade.

Is that appropriate for a theme park where people go to escape reality? I seriously do not think so.

And before anyone says it, yes, I have done this:

Yes, that says "Gay Days" on my shirt in very small print - But that is on a predetermined weekend and the park is full of gay visitors - And finally, homophobes are welcome to take pictures of me and post them on their blogs or whatever, and say "look at this disgusting queer who is ruining Disney" or whatever they want to say, because I know I am not disgusting, and sticks and stones and all of that.

Annnnnnnnnnnyway........now that three quarters of the audience have departed the theatre, we will resume the drinking around the world in the very next post, assuming that I didn't just get myself banned for life. ;)

I don't think anyone should wear clothing supporting a politician, sports team, musician etc etc without expecting that some people will have strong opinions about the thing being supported.

I don't think anyone should go to a Disney park without expecting that they will be photographed a multitude of times.

In other words I think you were fine to take this photo.

Yeah, with today's political climate, wearing that to a theme park is basically asking for trouble

From the photos that Buddy posted above, it looked like wall-to-wall people at EPCOT when he was there.

Pictures are constantly being taken all over the parks. I'm sure I've also (unintentionally) ended up in countless photos, taken by strangers, as has probably everyone else who has visited these highly-attended parks. And I wear neutral colors, with an occasional Disney design on a t-shirt. Regardless of what people choose to wear, they'll probably end up in someone's photo.

G, I’m shocked that the people on the politics thread overreacted to a picture. Shocked, shocked!

My only teeny tiny question is: is it possible this Trump a Rama was their Halloween costume?

You could tell by eavesdropping on the conversation. If it was mostly grunts and FOXNews quotes, they were the real deal.

Or... that’s still could’ve been part of the act. Like when you wear pirate clothes and talk like a pirate!

See how I’m always trying to see the best in people? :D

Although her frown looked pretty authentic.
Really, more of them should pay attention to the news of late.
