Just a few notes as I have a busy weekend ahead and won't be able to be around until early next week.
First, to anyone who has sent a msg (you all know who you are) I am not ignoring you, but you won't get an answer until mid-week.
Second, this thread wasn't a rally the troops deal. Everyone has different concerns (some that I don't even share) about the way WDW is being run and, honestly, getting in touch with the people at the centre of the decisions is how you either bring about change or, at the very least, make damn sure your voice gets heard. It would be folly and an utter waste of time if a group of you all sent the same messages to the same execs. That's not how this works. Figure out what bothers you most. Find out the exec or execs in charge at the WDW level (although CCing to folks in Burbank is fine as well) and write them or call them. Much of the info is available here ... and any CM can pull up contact info for just about anyone at the company. It really is that easy. No, I'm not going to give you Dr. Blondie's cell phone, but since TWDC pays for it and she uses it for work, you could give her a call and ask when the next cupcake party will be held and request an invite.
Third, almost every exec at WDW reads their own email. They may not directly respond, but they read it. Georgie K is notorious for reading his stuff, even though he now has an assistant who may read it first.
Fourth, if you get Joan Martin ask her for her real name. She seems to be the catch all for emailed complaints to execs from the online world. She was so sincere in her dealings with me. You could see she had a file and script in front of her. From what I've been told, 'Joan' doesn't exist. There are multiple people who use the name and persona, so take that for what it is worth.
Fifth, I absolutely think folks should contact Soup & Salad Sandra and chat with her about the Sentinel's lack of real coverage of WDW (and UNI as well) and why that is. I believe her phone number is listed at the bottom of her stories.
Finally, it does make a difference when you call or write. Disney keeps records and they are forced to report on all complaints (or compliments) given at the exec level (another reason why they'd much rather you abuse a $10 an hour CM at City Hall at midnight ... or push a hotel front desk clerk into comping a meal at Chef Mickey's).
If enough people collectively contact TDO execs and say "enough is enough" it just might get some of these changes reversed and, more importantly, make them think a fourth or fifth time about some of the cuts and price gouges that they are considering.
Y'all have nice weekends! Make some MAGIC!!!
