First person to guess what those yellow discs on the mooring ropes are for gets a cookie! (No cheating.. :lookaroun ).

This thread makes me feel not so insane for bringing my DSLR and tripod/monopod everywhere I go! I got quite a few funny looks walking around cruise ships at 2am with my camera set-up. :ROFLOL:

Too bad I haven't been on a Disney cruise... but Royal Caribbeans' "Freedom of the Seas" is quite amazing!

Does it have to be a positive picture?

My stateroom did not have a veranda light - all it had was a wire.

I pointed it out to a guest services cast member who had come to the room because of ongoing noise complaints. She was a bit shocked to say the least. The rooms on either side of me were in the same condition.

My German being what it is, it says somethign like "WARNING! ELECTRICAL! Turn it off or it can kill you."

Not very Disney like if you ask me. How it passed the shakedown run is beyond me.

Wow, I'm pretty "shocked" about that myself (pun intended). Was this on the Dream????

Yep, it was on the dream.

I was a bit shocked myself. It is the veranda light that is above the door. You have to go onto the veranda, turn around, face the ship, and look up.

It was my room and the two on either side of me that were like this. We had constant problems with noise from the clubs that were below us (which DLC did try to make right and they did give us a number of gifts and credit - but I would have preferred being able to sleep at 1 AM). Anyway, one of the Guest Services people came up to the room to talk to us and make sure everything was OK (with the noise). I took her out on the veranda and showed her the missing light, and the look on her face was shockd to say the least.

Here is a brand new ship that supposedly has been inspected and gone on a shake down run, and there are missing fixtures and exposed wiring.

Maybe they need to hire me to do inspections. :D
