I just came back from WDW a couple of weeks ago. It was so fun that my girlfriend and I are already planning next years vacation. We are heavily considering a disney cruise but share one concern. It will only be us two, we dont have kids. I've seen many say that its great for familys and that kids will love it. We are concerned there will be nothing to do for couples without kids. Has anyone here been on a Disney cruise with just their partner? If so how was it?

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

I have not but there is LOADS to do!

First there is the adults only section on deck, with its own pool, hot tubs and it's own bar!

The show's are brilliant every night for all ages!

There is a late night section, with bars, and clubs.

During the days there are wine seminars, beer tastings, margarita seminars and many other adult activities!

Plus Cataway Cay has a separate beach just or adults :D

I would love to do an adults only cruise with DCL ;)

The Disney Cruise is incredible for adults that like Disney. Each ship has dedicated, adults only sections, restaurants and clubs. Castaway Cay also has an adults only beach.

I have been on five Disney cruises - only once did we have a younger one with us, and she was 13. Two of the others were DH and me, once with Mom and me, and the other was a group of adult Travel Agents. (And this coming October will be one of my closest friends and me.) Each and every cruise has been a wonderful vacation, and we have never lacked for things to do. Just to give you an idea of what is onboard for adults:
  • Art of the Theme Ship Tours
  • Art of Entertaining Series (cooking demonstartions - appetizer, entree, dessert)
  • Art of Innovention Series (talks on things such as animation, Disney parks, etc.)
  • Tastings (additional cost - includes wine, beer, margarita/tequila, etc.)
  • Adults Only Entertainment District (nightclubs, bars, etc.)
  • Adults Only Pool Area (pool, loungers, Cove Cafe specialty coffee)
  • Animation Academy (both family and adults-only)
  • Movies (including premieres at sea)
  • Trivia (I believe both family and adults-only, although I know for sure family style includes things such as Disney music or movies)
  • Karaoke (both family and adults-only)
  • Evening Adult Games (such as DisneyQuest scavenger hunt type game and Match Your Mate newlywed type game)
  • Bingo (while I think the cost of this is a bit too pricey, many others thoroughly enjoy it!)
I'm sure I could come up with many more, but this gives you an idea of what there is to do on the ship. Hope this helps with your decision!

We've been on 2 Disney cruises with our teenage sons. We've got a short getaway cruise planned for the end of September without our kids and we are so psyched! There is plenty to do! You won't be bored! Don't be concerned you'll be over-run by little kids. In addition to the adult-only spaces & offerings everyone has already mentioned, keep in mind that all the kid-specific stuff will keep them all busy. You'll have a fabulous time! Definitely worth trying!

Just echoing everyone else. We did our first cruise without the kids to see if it was something we would want to take them on (which of course it was) and also for a bit of a getaway for ourselves. If you enjoy WDW as adults, you will enjoy DCL as adults. I'd say go when school is in session (like October?) so you won't be overrun with kids on board. Otherwise there's PLENTY for adults to enjoy. The same as basically any other cruise line but with a bit more class and no casinos. Also, the adults only section on Castaway Cay is amazing. Just such a gorgeous view and its so quiet and not crowded at all. Take a look at a picture I took:

Thanks for all the feed back! We thought it over and have decided to go for it! We plan on going next summer so now we just have to plan it. I filled out a quote form from Kingdom Konsultant since we have no experience with a Disney Cruise. Any tips and tricks to DCL?

For first time cruisers - I especially recommend getting the ebook version of the Passporter Guide. It helps with all aspects, from planning, picking a room, what to pack, where to stay, what to do, etc. It is all the knowledge rolled into one place.

You will want to check out these treads by Tammy. She is an absolute DCL goddess and knows more about the DCL then any 5 people I know.

If highly recommend using Kingdom Konsultants, and personally recommend Tammy (Disneyfalcon) as she is wonderful!!!! I was trying to plan my first cruise for me and my husband. I love planning WDW trips, but the cruise intimidated me with all the transfers and various room types. I sent Tammy an email, told her what I was looking for and she presented several options for me that same day. It was so easy and stress free for me that I know I will never try to plan a cruise on my own.

Since this is our first cruise, and we don't leave for another 45 days, I can't really offer any opinions on the cruise itself. Only on the planning of the cruise. Have fun, whatever you decide. :)
