Dancing with the stars!

He was really bad. It's a shame, because he seems like a nice guy, but he just doesn't have it anymore. I heard something about him having a problem with his voice that may have permanently affected his singing ability. If so, he should give it up. That was painfully bad.

It was worse than Diana Ross on American Idol last season. And that's pretty bad.

OMG - I thought Marie had died. That was really frightening.

Sabrina, Jenny and Cameron rocked. Poor Helio had such a hard time not smiling.

I still love Helio, even if last nite wasn't his best dance. I loved how he kept saying "roomba"! :D

Was anyone glad that a week passed with no sign of Cheryl Burke? I thought it was a little excessive that she had to come back and dance after she was booted off.

I was shocked. I teared up a little. Jane or Marie should have went, definitely Jane in my opinion. Her dance, costume and hair were too young for her and she is seriously irritating. I think it's because when I worked at the Contemporary, people who I worked with told me she stayed there once and was a NASTY wench to everyone, so I feel like she's just fakey fakey.

I think Sabrina and Mark are dating.

Oh, and Cheryl Burke back again?? Hello! Cheryl...get a hobby, girl.

I am so irritated right now. How does the best dancer get voted off the competition. I cant believe this. Sabrina should have won.

Ditto... that was just plain wrong. Sabrina was a talented firecracker on the dance floor. That little gal was a delight to watch. America got it wrong this time for sure.

I think the problem is that people are voting for the personalities they like and not the best dancer. They should change the shows format because voters are obviously not voting for the best dancer.

I read on another site that Jane and Marie have been complaining to anyone who'll listen that it's not fair to have people who "dance for a living" (i.e. Mel and Sabrina on the show. :veryconfu

And I know Cheryl is overexposed, but I thought her and Louis' dance was awesome! It reminds me of Chandler's line from "Friends": "His legs seem to flail about as though independent of his body!"

I thought that was ridiculous. Neither her or Cameron deserved to be in the bottom two. I was hoping that Marie would go, she is ok but it's obvious she doesn't have as much talent as the others. This was a real shocker!

And I am sorry to hear that about Jane at the Contemporary. I really hope that's not true because I thought she seemed like a very genuine person.

And I do agree that Cheryl and Louie's dance was very good. But I still can't stand her. LOL.

I actually agree with this. I love Sabrina and she was the best by far, but the whole purpose of the show is for the stars to "learn" how to dance from the proffesionals. It is always fun watching their skills develop over the course of the season, espeically when one seems to be horrible at the start and ends up being a pretty good dancer. I mean, look at Emmit Smith. He is a stocky football player....who would have ever thought he would be on a dance show and actually win?? Now THAT was entertaining. And Apollo....I never would have dreamed he would have ended up becoming such a great dancer. Even though I love Sabrina, I do not think a dancer with her skill level should be on this type of show. It just takes the fun out of it for me.

The thing to consider about Sabrina and Mel is that while they have dance experience, it is "pop" dancing, choreography, and very different from ballroom. The foot position, body posture, and types of moves are all very different. Even the muscles used are different. And in order to do ballroom, they have to "un-learn" everything their bodies are used to doing for their show/music work. The only real advantage I think they have is that they are used to live performing, and know how to deal with stage fright. Watch "so you think you can dance" and see what a hard time the classically trained dancers have with the hip-hop moves and vice versa to see what I am talking about.

And I think Emmitt Smith must have had a lot of disco dancing experience. Those moves came pretty naturally for him. I don't care what their background is, I just enjoy watching good dancing. But to each his (or her) own, I guess.

Exactly, on So You Think You Can Dance, many hip hop dancers get cut because their ballroom is lacking. They can't get the posture and technique down to do the dance correctly. I don't think that just because someone is a pop/hip hop dancer that they can automatically do ballroom dances. Live performing can be an advantage, but then most singers/actors are comfortable performing live. Like Marie Osmond, she has never once seemed nervous to me in the slightest, in fact she loves it! It comes from her stage experience singing. But that doesn't mean she should not be allowed to compete. If you said no to pop stars you would have to say no to singers/stage actors as well.
But I do think that a big advantage the pop/hip hop dancers have is a natural sense of rhythm. I still don't think that means they will be good ballrooms dancers.
