WOW, I've flown on Song many times and loved it. Never a problem. Maybe it's the airport. I've usually left from JFK or LaGuardia. Well, Song is no longer anyway. Delta was losing money with them so all Song flights as of May 1 will become Delta. I'm leaving on May 4th and they changed my flight to leave NY 1/2 hour earlier and return back from MCO 40 min later....Hey, more time in Disney for me :D

Only 40 more days til I'm Home!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I went out of JFK. Im not suprised to hear that Song is no more. Cant imagine why they were loosing money...:lookaroun (prolly had nothing to do with me canceling my return flight home bc i refused to get on another plane operated by them, but i like to think maybe i contributed a little bit:fork: ) Im not a huge fan of Delta either but I can tolerate them. At least you get more Disney time out of them. :D

Song is just Delta with a different name...... And it was an idiotic idea to put all those nifty free inflight crap on their discount carrier but not their regular....

I just returned home from my latest trip to WDW and it was my second trip using Song.

I have had no problems with them at all...and actually i was really starting to like this airline when news broke it was being phased out! Du'Oh!!

I've flown Song to MCO twice out of Boston and things have been great both times. The fares were fab for me ( $150 RT) and the service was ahead of time arriving in both trips. I'll be sad to see it go...guess i may have to try Jet Blue then?

I definetly recommend JetBlue. Once you fly them you will wonder how u ever dealt with Song. The reason why I have such issues with Song is because I have never in my life been treated like such a third class citizen (I essentially had a Flight Attendant tell me I was too fat). Rude, snotty, and did I mention rude, described their employees. The flight was 3 hours late and they made me play musical chairs by telling me I had to move to 3 seperate seats on the plane, only to end up back where I started. Ok, rant/thread drift over.

Anywho, Jet Blue has great rates and AirTran is decent. Southwest isnt too bad either. Btw, to the original poster...did you try any package deals? AAA and Liberty Travel are usually pretty good routes.

I dont know where in PA you live but you should consider going out of Newark on Jet Blue. It is a great airline and usually very cheap. As of right now they only have their online rates available through September 6th, but the highest rate I found was $124 going on Sept. 1 and $84 comming back on the 6th. The average rate I found for going one way was $84. Also,JetBlue doesnt bounce around their rates that much so theres a good chance if you look again in two weeks the prices wont have changed.

Side Note: I dont even know if Delta Song flies out of Philly but I would avoid them like the plague. I flew Delta Song last summer and it was by far the worst airline experience of my life...NEVER AGAIN. Their rates may look cheap but you pay the price in the long run.

A couple of things....
I have flown JetBlue and Song multiple times between JFK/LGA in NYC and MCO. I was pleased with the service on Song, and would not count them out if the time and price is right.

However, about JetBlue and their 'more stable' pricing, it's bull. I have seen fares jump from $89 from JFK to MCO to well over $200 in less than a week, and we're talking months before the flight. I did enjoy my flight on JetBlue, but have had a hard time finding flights for the time I wanted with a price I was willing to pay. $89 for JFK-MCO at 7am is good. $224 to come home is not. I was also more impressed with Song's service than JetBlue's.

Check Southwest. THey have flights out of Philly starting at $79, and if you sign up for Ding!, you can get great deals. I'm flying them for the first time and have been more than pleased with their prices, the ease of changing flights, and customer service. They also fly out of the smaller NY airport on Long Island, ISP, which is so much closer and easier to get to than JFK/LGA for me.

I often fly from tampa to philly or orlando to philly and have booked 1-2 months ahead of time using southwest's ding software... and have flown for $98 RT including taxes and fees numerous times.. :o)
