The onus is on Disney to provide attractions and entertainment that are worth their guest's time. I've been visiting for 20+ years, so forgive me if I don't want to sit through all the shows again for the umpteenth time.

Every post saying there's plenty to do and nobody needs new attractions seems to completely ignore that while most of the attractions are pretty decent, they're not so amazing that guests will want to keep coming back year after year for the same attractions. Disney's business model depends on repeat visitors as well as first-timers, and the quickest way to ensure they don't come back is if they look at what's new and see a big fat nothing.

NOBODY tours all four parks in three days. Maybe one guest in a thousand. Most people take their time, eat a nice meal, actually WATCH the shows (GASP!), enjoy the scenery. Sure you could tear through the rides in that time but nobody does that, nor is it conducive to maximum enjoyment. I've already proven in other threads that DHS shows alone, even ignoring ANY ride, are enough to fill a park day from open to close. If you're doing DHS in half a day, it's not because there's too little to do, it's because you're skipping half of it. That's on you, not Disney.

So I'm obligated to watch 20-year old shows now? I think that's solidly on Disney.

And I think you'd be surprised that a lot of people - maybe even the majority - don't tour the parks the same way you do.

What bearing can someone's opinion possibly have on these circumstances? It will either be that size, be larger, or be smaller. Which one has not yet been made public, but it's not a matter of opinion.
I agree
Is area in question less than 14 acres? It will be bigger
Is area in question more than 14 acres? It will be smaller

Facts y'all

The boss officially announced it will be the biggest theme park attraction/land in the history of earth. Can't spin that.

Indeed, some of them are so amazing that I could take a trip every year and ride them many times per trip, but the list of attractions like that at DHS is short. Tower of Terror has yet to get old. I love The Great Movie Ride, but it could use some attention. Won't keep me from riding, though. Rock N' Roller Coaster is a blast, if not a particularly glamorous attraction. Star Tours is great as well, and it sounds poised to improve. I have yet to tire of MuppetVision.

When Disney hits, they tend to hit hard. Almost all of the attractions I've listed have been there for 20 years or more. DHS as a park needs a few more hits.

It's the over-the-top rhetoric like the sky is falling. You paint a dire picture of DHS that's wholly inaccurate.

Frankly, there are several posters here who complain about every single thing Disney does or doesn't do. They're not fans, they're trolls. I don't include you in that group but their shtick is getting real old. It shouldn't be the case that I'm the one who is labeled negative or argumentative because I actually LIKE what Disney is doing... you know, on this Disney fan site.
DHS is in dire need of attractions and that is not an inaccurate statement in the slightest. When did I ever say I wasn't happy with what is being made? I said I wasn't sure if it's enough to really make DHS a park on par with DCA, Magic, or any full day park. Especially with everything that should be closing to make way for these 2 new lands. In the long run we get rides that are making up for lost capacity instead of increasing it.

I'm more concerned with the quality of what they offer than how big it is. Or as someone else interested in Star Wars said...

I'm happy as well actually I guess I just expected a better presentation for the DHS makeover. I know it could come but in that regard I did have my hopes higher. I think there just needs to be at least another two rides and hopefully we get some new shows and a better flow to the park. Just slightly underwhelmed. Wanted something we mostly didn't know about in some form. If they had also announced a name or Cars-lite or heck even a mini Bugs land I'd say they're putting in a large effort and I'd be happy. Tossing in two lands and calling it a day doesn't solve the problems. They're great additions or seem like they could be but I just wanted a bit more.

Yeah I sound ungrateful and greedy and two lands is a huge deal but eh.

Have to agree. I usually err on the side of defending Disney. However, I'm rather disappointed that, for example, one or more dark rides for Pixar were not announced. 11 acres for TSP with 2 attractions of this nature seems a bit underwhelming.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with the initial announcement regarding SW. But, DHS sure could use a few more attractions, even if they are on the level of the classic Fantasyland rides.

Here's hoping Disney is keeping a surprise or two for later announcements.

You seriously think DHS Toy Story Land with a family coast equals Cars Land? Gimme a break.

Being on the East coast makes things better for a lot of fans. Let's say Toy Story Land is a 6 out of 10 and Carsland ranks a 9. Factor in the East coast/West coast doubling factor and Toy Story Land is now a 12.
