Cuts coming to every area of parks and resorts - thanks to Shanghai and Paris

Honestly, I don't understand why Disney built another park overseas, it would've been easier and probably much cheaper to make substantial upgrades to Epcot/HS. Or (I know this won't happen for a long while) they could've built a fifth park here at WDW
And there would still be cuts because Disney's problems are not because the parks are built in foreign lands.

I know right! i was expecting maybe a whole star wars park + a star wars water park and resort. that would have been epic.

i honestly think they need to close Disney Paris. they are losing alot of UK guests due to the refugee crisis.. the eurostar from London is constantly delayed or cancelled.. not to mention the recent terror attacks causing visitor numbers to drop..

and also the park is a mess in comparison.
Are you speaking from hear say and personal opinion or do you have proof?

15 million people a year tend to disagree with you.

Cost of construction is not the issue, it is Disney's inability to deliver their projects within already overly inflated budgets.

Which is ENTIRELY Iger's fault because he created a management culture and system which ALLOWS this. DGM had a saying which is applicable here 'the fish rots from the head down'.

Yes it was! If you had any ability to read, you would see that the article Steve posted two weeks ago stated the shop would close at 9pm.

First of all there is no reason to be a jerk.

Second of all if YOU had any ability to read you would see that he said it would now be open 1 hour after park open open until park close instead of the current 8:45 to park close.
http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...and-shops-to-be-reduced-from-this-weekend.htm

He never said anything was changing with the closing time. In fact he very clearly showed it being the same as always, park close.

How dare you use facts?!?!?!?!?!

Except his "facts" are not relevant since the article he mentions said the store would continue to close at park close. The stores being open later than park close is generally not advertised.

Please don't post such nonsense with no research to back yourself up. As already stated by several people on here - DLPR has only seen a financial drop of 1% in the last quarter due to being closed for 4 days after the terrorist attacks. For the first quarter of the year this has been offset by increased in guest spending, hotel occupancy and park visitors. UK visitors have been up for the last 5 quarters if you bothered to read any of the financial reports. Saying people from the UK aren't visiting because of refugee crisis in Europe is alarmist and not based on any fact - just your own wrong opinion. Disneyland Paris is still the most visited theme park in Europe and the investments currently happening are helping bring the resort up to proper standards.

But it has NEVER closed at park closing. The way the article was written, it gave the impression that the store would no longer be open after the park closed. That's where the confusion comes from. It has never been like that, regardless of what is "officially" advertised.
Exactly. It never has closed at park closing. But that is how it's always been advertised. I'm sorry if you misunderstood the article but that is clearly what's happened here. Steve posted what the old hours were and what the new hours would be. The only change was in the opening time. The article didn't give the impression anything was changing with closing time, you just misunderstood it to mean that.

I guess to the un-informed casual fan it would appear there was no change. But for a majority of us, since we know it DOES stay open after closing, the way it was written DID imply the store wouldn't stay open past park closing. I guess I never cared and/or paid attention to how Disney advertises its store hours. I trust nothing on their website anyway, because its usually wrong.
There is a simple answer if you are interested. The stores almost always stay or stayed open after the advertised closing time because there were people in the shops allegedly buying things. They cannot close the doors until everyone is out. It to me is the epitome of Guest entitlement to hang around for no real reason because the CM's have families too and their just standing around past closing, because they can, just to me means thoughtless people, but, that's another post for another time.

The point is that as far as when the close up... nothing has changed. When they open has!

Mouse Gear currently operates from 8:45am to park close, but from Sunday, the new hours will be 1 hour after park opening to park close.

Therefore on typical morning Extra Magic Hour days, Mouse Gear will open at 9am, and on regular days, it will open at 10am.

I just don't see how you can say that the above implied that. It clearly only shows a change to opening.

So we now know the TRUTH, MM+ and the MB was a huge waste of money.
A huge waste of money for the stupid things they claimed to do (aka raise guest spending).
Yet, it was an still necessary expending to upgrade the backbone and network/communications infrastructure.
Iger just tried to sell it as the best thing since sliced bread.. far beyond what it really was.

No Iger tried to use the project as the so called 'Smart Grid' is designed, Ration access to the resource instead of building needed capacity by spending a relatively small amount on rationing devices (smart meters/mickey heads) The reusable RFID ticket media was and is a good idea.
