Cuts coming to every area of parks and resorts - thanks to Shanghai and Paris

So what I'm taking away from all this is that unless Bob's successors care more about TWDC, its employees and customers than his/her legacy and option package, nothing is going to get any better unless external forces (shareholder revolt, the BOD gets a clue, threat of corporate takeover - yeah, I know, not likely) make them. And those of us who love this company and its products will sadly witness the decline, while the casual user will continue to believe things are just peachy.

Time to storm the Bastille to save Disney from itself?

Iger was looking to sell them off a few years back.

If I was on the BOD and the CEO recommended selling one of the corporate assets that is the most visited place on the planet, I would starting think this CEO needed to become an EX CEO...

Is Iger sooooo in love with the media network division that he would sell off the one thing that probably makes the company he runs the most branded company on earth? Is he that ****** stupid?!

I never used to see 50-minute waits for Mansion. Now it peaks at 45-minutes on even the quietest days. I miss being able to get on HM four or five times in an hour. Now we have to preschedule our rides and only get on HM a few times in a vacation (it is my favorite. We used to go on it probably 10x in a week...grrr).

I'm with you, as HM is my favorite as well. Having annual passes, we often go to the parks for just a few hours, and I used to ride it three or four times practically without waiting. Those days are gone.

i honestly think they need to close Disney Paris. they are losing alot of UK guests due to the refugee crisis.. the eurostar from London is constantly delayed or cancelled.. not to mention the recent terror attacks causing visitor numbers to drop..

and also the park is a mess in comparison.

I don't see that happening. It was overbuilding the hotels which caused DLP's problems not the park itself.

Don't forget Iger came from ABC/Capitol Cities so the media networks are in his DNA so to speak.

I found DLP to be quite charming, actually. The layout felt very open, the crowds were low, the rides were longer and had more interesting concepts than WDW. And unlike my home resort, it feels less greedy and manufactured. My issues stemmed from the weather and the locals, both of which were so very.....French.

i think my issues with DLP are the same, WDW will always beat it in my opinion because of water parks and the weather

but yeah the french people ruined my disney experience there, every morning at breakfast we were just being pushed and shoved. and people fighting over tables.

Never going to happen. It would take apocalyptic circumstances to close a Disney theme park, regardless of location.

i doubt it, in my opinion its the worst climate to open a new disney park when most people struggle to afford to go to any of the existing ones.. china's market has crashed as well.
Honestly, I don't understand why Disney built another park overseas, it would've been easier and probably much cheaper to make substantial upgrades to Epcot/HS. Or (I know this won't happen for a long while) they could've built a fifth park here at WDW
