Cuts coming to every area of parks and resorts - thanks to Shanghai and Paris

I was a little sad but not disheartened by the cuts announced so far...
...except now I've seen the september hours and there is only 6 days of Wishes. Maybe it'll be changed, but I'm alarmed this might be real, as a form of budget cut.

Honestly, my mood dropped when I read this. I saw Spirit's post on his thread but I didn't really understand what he was trying to say and why it was such a big deal. I know now, and it's really one of the worst things that can happen to the parks. Disney cuts enough things already in trade for higher prices and it seems like this trend won't be ending anytime soon. I'm sad.

Okay, I'll give you that during Spring Break...when crowd levels are insane. So, sure.

What I meant was that if the most significant thing I'll experience because of these these cuts will be F! and MSEP going to once nightly for awhile, it's not the end of the world.

Sure, it's not. Especially for someone like me who's seen F! countless times. But it definitely effects the "normal" guest experience. Everything from FP's, to wait times, to dinner reservations... All those things can pretty easily chain-react, ESPECIALLY for the casual guest that doesn't know all the ins and outs. 90+% of those that visit the parks don't know them like us and can't change on the fly. For those folks, a second F! can literally be the difference between maybe having to miss a table service (which could be doubly bad if they're on a dining plan!), possibly ALL their fastpasses for that day, and numerous other things. A second F! gives some margin for error.

So let's recap. Several people on these boards stated from the outset that My Magic+ would be an economic wasteland that wouldn't generate additional money. Several other (and similar people) stated that Shanghai is a very volatile market and not exactly Anaheim circa 1955 as it was advertised. It seems that a handful of our smarter posters could have been hired for far less than $6 billion dollars.

I'd have done it for only 5 billion.

Curbside greeters at the resorts are disappearing after this week.

This is one of those small details that make a visit memorable. The Disney Difference. Even though in most big cities they have these curb side greeters....even at your most mid priced hotels. That's hysterical...you pull up to a $400 a night hotel and no one is there to open the door for you while you schlep your luggage.

And a tumbleweed blows by.

This one upsets me the most, as it was always a pleasure to be greeted by these gentlemen, especially the gentleman at the Grand Floridian who seemed to have been there since it opened (I don't know if true or not, but my memory doesn't recall anyone else doing it, and does remember someone doing it forever.) And the greeter at the Yacht (or is it Beach) in his captain's coat was super class.

Amid all the budget cuts I fearlessly predict the parks at WDW will have a record year in attendance.

To the delight of coroprate which will prove they were right in this decision, all the while stinging the internet pride of a handful.

To move forward we must truly move forward- Jimmy Thick
