The original statement and talk was about general trash, including bathroom filth. You're cherrypicking now to fulfill whatever Pro Disney agenda YOU have.So if you had read my post, you would have seen that I was only speaking of paper products, not anything wet or nasty, as I stated.
Actually, I find your attitude funny. I NEVER said that other people had not seen anything or experienced anything different, and you know darn well that many people here have an agenda. You bash me because I simply talked about my experience being different than other people. Gee, thanks.
It seems that unless I have a miserable time on vacation with many issues and problems, I can't post about it here, right?
I guess we were brought up differently, as I was taught to pick up after myself. That carries over to wherever we are. If we see a piece of paper on the ground, we will pick it up to throw away. I see no reason not to help out the obviously overworked custodial staff. Yes, it is their job, but that doesn't mean you walk past a piece of paper on the ground because that action is beneath you, or is someone's else's job. I don't demand that you help, as it is obviously beneath your station in life. Others have a different attitude towards people.
OH WOW, now you're making the whole thing as an excuse to claim that I'm somehow discriminating Custodial staff?...as it is obviously beneath your station in life....
I here a lot of grumbling here, and nothing else. If you don't like it, do something about it! Call Guest Services! Start a grass roots campaign to get some mainstream public spotlight on this! Buy stock and become a shareholder, so that you have some measure of influence! Note- I'm not sure how feasible that last one is, but my point stands.
I should think a well-placed blog post with images snapped over a period of time would be more effective. You know how major news agencies LOVE to pick up any negative news story with DISNEY in the title. The original statement and talk was about general trash, including bathroom filth. Also, stop trying to act the victim now. You were clearly bashing everyone else because "it didn't happen to me" and defending Disney like your life depended on it. Dont try to pull a fallacy and move the blame on my side now that YOU threw the whole ball.
Nice try on trying to deflect and excuse yourself with the "It seems that unless I have a miserable time on vacations with many issues and problems, I cant post about it here, right?". Except it wasn't about YOU. You were using your posts to claim others were lying or having "an agenda".
OH WOW, now you're making a sense that I'm somehow discriminating Custodial staff?
Whats next? I'm going to have to pick up my food from a restaurant's kitchen when the waiters are "too busy" or "doing terribly" because if dont do so, by your logic.. I'm an uneducated and discriminating slob? jeeesuss.. are you even reading what you writing?
I actually wonder how much level of influence (shareholder wise) would you need to make examples of these cleaning failures to higher ups.
Lets remember that disney, most of the times does the classic "sorry not sorry, have a fastpass". The front end cast cant do much when executives are more worried about their bonuses than the state of the park.

Yes...well...most people do remember the spectacle of cutting ones nose off to spite their face. What really makes an impression with GR is NOT ACCEPTING the free stuff, I assure you they DO remember those.
Probably lacking the "May I talk to the manager" haircut and clothing comboNot accepting a freebie? Unheard of in today's society

The denial and ignorance are alarming.I think it's kind of interesting that fans of WDW, and Disney in general, come here to say, "Something's wrong - this isn't how it used to be..," and other fans (no less fans, mind you) protest this with, essentially, "you're making it up - everything is magical!," or they give excuses like, "Disney is busy. Lots of guests. etc.," as if WDW didn't figure out how to deal with crowds decades back.
I think a thing to consider is that the former Disney fans are generally pretty forgiving and understand the difference between isolated incident and overall problem.
It's almost like telling a married man, "Hey, you may want to pay attention to that guy your wife is always hanging out with...," and getting back, "Oh, they're just friends."
It's alarming to see the denial and ignorance.
Why is it so easily overlooked that some of us that are trying to tone down the out and out inaccuracy of the situation were around there back in the so called "good old days". I would think that our observations are more accurate then someone that was still a minor gleam in their fathers eye when we were actually walking the paths. I have never said that was better back then because it wasn't, but, the trash situation was different. The reaction of the people in the parks was one of more respect and less entitlement. But, no we are just blind defenders of the Disney brand, where all the rest are true knights of what is right and wrong. You don't see the fact that your posture on these events are just as biased as ours.I think it's kind of interesting that fans of WDW, and Disney in general, come here to say, "Something's wrong - this isn't how it used to be..," and other fans (no less fans, mind you) protest this with, essentially, "you're making it up - everything is magical!," or they give excuses like, "Disney is busy. Just for the record - you never lived in Central Florida, your recollections are based on the "once a year" trip like most of us, right? Why is it so easily overlooked that some of us that are trying to tone down the out and out inaccuracy of the situation were around there back in the so called "good old days". It's as ridiculous to blame everything on Disney as it is to blame everything on the general public. Neither one is completely accurate. I suggested that if it bothers one, then they can be proactive and then come on here and complain about having to pick up after other people, instead of blaming it on a situation that none of us have any real insight about. We don't know how the custodial staff is scheduled or even how many it should take to keep the place spotless second to second. And we are not willing to be part of the solution. It's the vocal campaign of most of todays youth. "It's not my job, man." You are demanding the impossible and the only reason that I can think of is that you are so jam packed with pixie dust that you really do believe that in a Disney Park there is no such thing as impossible. I give up, all any of you can do is throw out foolish and incorrect statements based on what you think should be and not what is a reasonable expectation. So carry on, I can assure you that you will spend a lifetime being frustrated by demanding more the can be achieved without some help from all of us.
Would it matter if WDW were located in Wisconsin. I have been talking about what I remember from WDW, that didn't have anything to do with Central Florida other then that is where it is located.Just for the record - you never lived in Central Florida, your recollections are based on the "once a year" trip like most of us, right?
thanks
I asked you a questionWould it matter if WDW were located in Wisconsin. I have been talking about what I remember from WDW, that didn't have anything to do with Central Florida other then that is where it is located.
Yes, I guess you did, but, to be honest it wasn't a serious question in my mind. What does living in Central Florida have to do with the condition of the parks when I saw them year after year, that would be significantly different. I guess I just don't understand your statement or you question. What's the relevancy of it?I asked you a question
You bring up a good point in that every facet of Wdw wasn't being meticulously documented in the 70-80s and it never was perfect and our recollections are colored. My point is, were you personally observing it on a regular basis during that time? Because I've met people who have and they would disagree with youYes, I guess you did, but, to be honest it wasn't a serious question in my mind. Everyone has there own opinion of it. The majority of those that have the most positive "old days" fascination are those that were there when they were kids. I cannot accept that as a valid memory. I have used this before, think back to a place that you lived in when you were a kid. Go back now and see the same place and tell me that your perception of time and space isn't completely different then the reality. The house I grew up in seemed gigantic when I was a kid. Either they left it out in the rain and it shrunk or my perception was not real accurate as a child. Even as an adult we still have distorted images. The house that I raised my kids in, at the time seemed quite adequite, seeing it now I have to wonder how come we weren't tripping all over each other. You bring up a good point in that every facet of Wdw wasn't being meticulously documented in the 70-80s and it never was perfect and our recollections are colored. That really doesn't have to do with cut backs. That's just lazy CM's who's areas aren't being checked by their lazy leaders.Just finished a 5 day vacation at WDW and never experienced dirty bathrooms. I did see piles of trash in the Splash Mountain queue on multiple occasions.
