Cupcake Tour

I think there are a lot of cupcakes at Disney World that really aren't as good as they look. I did like the vanilla caramel cupcake at Karamell-Küche in Epcot, though. I look forward to trying the s'mores cupcake at Roaring Fork in the Wilderness Lodge one of these days.

My personal fav is the Marble cupcake at Starring Rolls! I LOVE buttercream frosting and the frosting on that one is soooooo good! The last one I got was towards the end of the day so it was very dry (I think from sitting in the cooler all day) but it was still tasty! I'm going to stick to making the cupcakes my breakfast from now on as opposed to a mid-afternoon snack from now on so I can get them as early (and fresh!) in the day as possible!

I've heard about a mocha cupcake recently... Not sure if it is the one at Pizza Planet or not, I feel like it was somewhere else... Is there anywhere else that sells the cappuchino/mocha cupcakes?

Have only tried 2 so far...the Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake from Starring Rolls and the S'more Cupcake from the Boardwalk Bakery. Both were AMAZING but I liked the S'more cupcake better...red velvet from Starring Rolls is next on my list during our next trip! :slurp:

Sorry for such dark pictures...

Holy cow.. Seeing some of those puts me in diabetic shock just from looking at them.. But you know what, it's my vacation. I diet and train the rest of the year. I'm eating atleast one cupcake from a different place every day.

I was just gonna ask if you hated me or something to wish all those sinful calories on me when I'm fighting tooth & nail to reduce the size of my thunder thighs. just this morning I was reading about a diet where you basically do a nasal feeding tube to drop 20 lbs. in 10 days....:lookaroun

OH MAN. I don't think I could do the Butterfinger one...I have a major sweet tooth but I think that even that one would defeat me.

The red velvet is on my to-do (to-consume?) list, and the cookies 'n' cream one looks deeeeelicious. I wonder if they only have that one at Pop? :slurp::slurp::slurp:

S'mores cupcake at WL Roaring Fork was disappointing. Very dry, not much flavor.

If you get to the Boardwalk area, try the s'more cupcake from the Boardwalk Bakery (I posted a picture one page back). It was really good...not dry at all.

I've heard the cupcakes are pretty hit or miss at Disney...for example the ones at, I think, Main Street Bakery are pretty dry and the icing is way too sugary. Any thoughts?? :veryconfu

No worries! I read that it costs like $1500. I'm vain, yes, but not enough to plunk down that kind of cash for a temporary fix. I'd use that $$ towards saving for a tummy tuck or Velashape. Lol! Plus, I think my family would never let me live it down....

This has been my overall experience: hit or miss. Sad, especially at the prices of the cupcakes. I refer to many of them as evil cupcakes. Sorta like Lotso Huggin Bear. They appear to be heavenly but that's just appearance. They're actually terrible on the inside which makes them the ultimate in deceiving.

But then I found bliss beyond words at Starring Rolls! It erases the bad memories of evil cupcakes or makes you that desperate to try again. Either way, I dream of those toe-curling chocolate peanut butter slap-ya-mamma morsels of perfection. :slurp: Knowing my mamma, she'd want to be slapped twice so she could have one, too! ROFLMAO!!!

Kelly you have such a way with words... I just laughed hysterically outloud while sitting at my desk here at work. My coworkers think I'm nuts! lol

I can't remember ever trying a cupcake at DW. I don't know why because I seem to have tried everything else. It is a definite must for the next trip home tho.:slurp:

My fiance's sister tried the vanilla cupcake with blue icing at Sweet Spells in DHS

as well as the chocolate cupcake with white icing drizzled with caramel in Germany in EPCOT

..she said both of the cakes were dry and the icing was like granulated sugar. Not good at all. Very disappointing.

It wasn't until the last day at POP when she tried the cookies n cream cupcake that she had "seen the light"
