Hi all!

So my DH and I love cupcakes! And honestly, as much as we love them, there are so many amazing things to eat at WDW that I don't think we have every gotten one!!

SO! We are going to remedy this! And want to know - what is your favorite cupcake at WDW and where can you get it? If you have a pic of it - post that too!

:slurp::slurp:

The hands down winner for me is Starring Rolls. The red velvet cupcake and the chocolate peanut butter cupcake are both amazing and big enough to share.

Also, this past visit we had a cupcake at Toy Story Pizza Planet that was amazing. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but it was chocolate mocha and toffee. So good!

These are the 2 I am dying to try! But I'm not sharing! :slurp:

While I really enjoy the Starring Rolls cupcakes (tried the chocolate peanut butter one over the summer)...I recently saw a seasonal cupcake being offered (Possibly at Captain Cooks) that involved Passion Fruit (and maybe banana and/or coconut)!!! :slurp: There was another very tropical one I'd see recently, but I can't for the life of me remember what and where. I also saw something on the DIsney FOod Blog about a chocolate macadamia nut cupcake as well as a Lemon Ginger one (looked like lemon meringue pie) also at the Poly. Contempo Cafe supposedly has some new good ones, but I can't recall specifically what.

We need time for things to happen.

Yup. Yes. This.

Red Velvet being the tops of these two.

Big cup cake fan myself.

These are the exact 2 cupcakes I had at Starring Roles (w/large iced coffee that was only $2). They blew my mind! I've had custon cakes made twice and various cupcakes all over WDW. Nobody does cupcakes the way Starring Roles does. Nobody. The ones I've had from the Confectionary on Main Street & Contempo Cafe were pure evil. They looked amazing but the cake was dry & flavorless and the frosting was so overpowering sweet you couldn't even get a good feel for the flavor other than Holy CRAP that's sweet!

Yes Kelly, it was your review and photos of the Starring Roles cupcakes that made them mandatory for my next visit!!

I have heard that Boardwalk Bakery also has some good cupcakes. Since I am staying at BWV in October, I will bravely volunteer to try some and write up a review. It's a sacrifice, I know, but I am a martyr.

The ones that we had at the Contemporary a couple years ago were really good! I forget the flavors but just remember thinking how good they were and a hidden gem..:)

I was just thinking that Karamell Kuche at Germany in Epcot also had some really tasty looking cupcakes. I didn't get to try one (totall stuck on the popcorn and the caramel pecan bars!), but they looked yummy.

I will be trying everything in here, I missed the opening by weeks in 2010 and can't wait to eat gooey caramel! (although won't be trying the candy apples, it's a waste of good chocolate wrapping it around a healthy apple IMO!)

just looked it up.. it was the Carmel deleche that was really good..:)

That's the one I had there but it was so dry I couldn't stand it. Maybe I caught an off day when they weren't fresh...

I loved the chocolate covered strawberry and caramel apple I had here. I also had a cupcake once that was akin to the one at the Contempo Cafe and Confectionary. You could tell the cake part had been frozen during its lifetime and was extremely dry. I have an aversion for cake that's anything but moist and flavorful. Lol!

YUM! I'm assuming those are vanilla with lots and lots of frosting? :slurp:

I had one of the vanilla frosting CC's from the shop at DTD. I am a huge buttercream icing fan. The icing on those CC's was way too thick and heavy. It was almost paste consistency and way way too sweet (heresy to say that I know). I took a couple licks off he icing and into the waste receptacle it went.
