I believe the goal is to throw out stuff before you pack it so you do not have to throw it away later.

That is the goal and it was the plan, however, DH has done much of the packing due to the wicked drug OD two weeks ago, so I didn't get a vote on throwing stuff away....

Now, here's a question for you all.... DH unloaded our storage unit last month in preperation for our move...there are boxes in there (of his) that have not been unpacked inthe entire time I have known him (9 years) what would be a fair amount of time to give him to look through them before I just pitch them? I mean seriously, the seals on the boxes have NEVER been broken since I have known him, how important can the stuff be to him if that is the case?

I am thinking he has 2 weeks and anything not opened by then gets pitched.
