Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern?

Hello,

I was wondering which restaurant people would recommend for dinner between Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern? I have all my reservation made for the week and only have one night available. Any suggestions?

I've never been to the Crystal Palace, but we eat at the LTT all the time, lunch is very nice but the dinner is the best! :slurp:

We go to Crystal Palace every visit - but I'm a big Eeyore fan...:shrug:
The food hasn't been as good as I remember it was five years ago and prior - but it's still a great lunch! (We always do a late lunch to get out of the heat) You get a LOT of character time.

I have never eaten at Crystal Palace, so of course I say LTT is great! I had some bad service the last time we went for dinner (didn't bring out more food until we just decided that we might as well just leave). But I feel like there are far more people on these boards that will say Crystal Palace of Liberty Tree.

I like LTT more than CP, but I think that the selection at CP is a little better. The food at LTT just seemed better to me though and I liked the characters more.

CP is a buffet. LTT is homestyle and the food is brought to you. It's more like Thanksgiving dinner. The characters are different at both so you should decide who you like better.

I like them both.

I personally love LTT, we eat there every trip. I was also debating whether to try CP this year, however the buffet items didn't seem to appeal to me.

We have done both. For us it depends on which meal we want to eat, we like the characters at both. If we want breakfast or lunch at MK we go to CP, dinner we go to LTT.

Are you going lunch or dinner. Those are two places we make sure we do on each trip. But I prefer the crystal palace during the day, because those windows let in such nice light. And the liberty tree tavern is great for dinner with those characters in their colonial gear. However, if I was going just strictly off food- crystal palace would win. They have a great buffet with something for everyone.

I prefer LTT to CP. The food just seemed better quality at LTT. But I really like thanksgiving dinner and not having to get up and get my food.

Crystal palace also seems to be much more crowded and noisy.

I prefer LTT for lunch rather than dinner. The dinner is too "Thanksgiving-like" (as stated above) and I can get that anywhere. The lunch menu has a pretty good selection. There is a pasta and chicken dish that is amazing!

I like CP, too. There always seems to be something for everyone. And DD and I love the characters.

We are doing both next week.... CP on Monday for dinner and LTT on Thursday for lunch.

My choice?

Either or... depends on what you're looking for. If you're trying to avoid the "kiddie" atmosphere (as much as you can in MK), then go to the LTT. The Crystal Palace has a lot more families with small children and is a bit more geared toward them. LTT seems to be a bit more reserved in that respect, but having 4 boys myself, I know how to deal with either situation. I like the CP for both the food and the characters.

Food wise, CP has a great buffet, with a nice dessert selection, and the LTT is more of a homestyle selection. It depends on what you're hungry for.

One question to consider: do you have kids that enjoy Pooh and Friends more or some of the classics, such as Chip, Dale, Goofy, etc. more?

IMO, I'd say Liberty Tree Tavern. Their food was awesome. The character interaction was also great.

One of the benefits of dining at LTT instead of CP is that you don't have to fight the buffet lines. Last summer a group of 6 of us adults went to both, and all of us enjoyed LTT much better.

How do you know when characters are going to be there? Is there a schedule or something?

I like the colonial feel of Liberty over Crystal Palace. I also prefer the microwaved thanksgiving(this is not a knock on it) vs the all you can eat buffet
