Although far from a simulator, ToT does not send you up a true 13 floors. Why? Because the engine room above the shaft which contains the cable spindles that raise and drop the elevator is located well below floor 13.

If Disney uses those miniature versions of floors, such as on Mainstreet's facade, then yes, I suppose the ToT drop would count as 13 floors. (Just not in "real life.)

Well, keep in mind that the Tower of Terror is 199 Feet tall. Technically that is 19 stories, so the spindles COULD be on floor 14 or higher, or the elevator just drops the equivalent of 13 stories as opposed to from the 13th floor.

That all depends on how you define underground... the utilidors are 'underground'; because it's not dug deeper into the earth doesn't mean it's not underground… it’s feasible... it would not flood or dip into the water table... it could be just below existing ground level as we know it... encased with concrete to allow it to speed through without interruptions or foreign visual elements... I'm sure it would involve alot of land right usage...(legal stuff) Yes, impractical but not impossible... considering Disney's blue sky thinking method, I'm sure it's been thought of once a good while ago.

Walt is frozen somewhere underneath the parks?! Well, now, that's just ridiculous!!

Especially since everyone knows that Walt's body was disposed of after his consciousness was fed into the master computer beneath the Magic Kingdom, allowing him to still control the resort while Epcot Imagineers worked on creating a new, incorruptible body for him out of stainless steel. Duh!

Uh, yeah, this is probably how rumors get started, or something...

you actually only fall 7 stories... however, if you wanna get technical, which I do, you really do fall 13 stories, because...

199 ft is 19 stories.

6 of the stories are double length, so in reality, that's 12 stories.

12 stories + 1 extra story = 13 stories.

the Utilidors are underground because.. they are UNDER GROUND. They are the first story of the Magic Kingdom. If you take any backstage elevator at MK (except for the CRT one, which is set to the castle and not the park) the ground level of the park (ie... guest land) is either floor 2 or 3, and the tunnel is 1.

I was standing in front of "Space" and a man with a clip board, in a suit, was telling another man, also in a suit, that NASA had approved the "anti gravity" room, but they were waiting for Eisner to get on board. That it would be the same type of training facility that NASA uses to train astronauts...SO-with people like that in the parks, it is not a wonder how these rumors get started.

Why else would he advance designs in Animatronics so much in his parks. You're absolutely correct.

I heard that the Dragon in WOM, was Figments Mom.

I wouldn´t doubt about it! She probably got involved with a mexican purple dragon that was a park icon in Mexico City, he got her pregnant and abandoned her, and their baby went to work in Orlando as part of the College Program and got hired as a permanent!
Now it all makes sense.... :lookaroun

I'm sorry, I meant the Sea Monster from WOM.

Look at those yellow eyes, and oversized nostrils. Can't you see the family resemblance?

CABLES?

I thought TOT utilized the same type of ride system as the Doctor Doom Tower at IOA. Electro magnets shoot the elevator up, rather than pulling the elevator up. I don't think there are any cables.
